Well I did it. I met my goals. I retired at 55!!!!! 33 years on the road! Now am I just going to sit around? Hell no. I have my own business now that I work out of the house and work about 20 hours in the coin, paper money and stamp store.

We have 3 websites. If you need gold and silver and are my friend I will be upset if you buy from someone else. This is no add!

But it is about me Brothers and Sisters. I will sitting Wanee out this year
I will be in NY on a gold watch buy and will be checking out the Beacon hopefully.
I will miss you at Wanee but my son will still carry the torch.
My health is very good for my age. I will see you next year!!!!!

Congratulations! Retired at 55! I hope to do the same in 16 months ... if I have a job to retire from at that point.
Good luck to you!

I was thinking about you just the other day, Jesse! Glad to see you pop in, and sorry we'll miss you at Wanee. Congrats on the retirement. I'll have to work until I drop, I'm afraid.

Congratulations, Jesse! And enjoy! Did not make that 55 cut-off myself, but hope to be leaving the 'rat race' soon for greener pastures.

Well, congratulations and my hat's off to you as someone who did a lot of good planning to meet a goal we'd all like to have had.

Unfortunately, there are a whole lot of us who never thought we'd get old! It's kinda late to get my portfolio (LOL) together at this stage when I can't even find a full time job.

Good job. Rather, good NO job!!!!

Jealous as hell right here. I'm one year older than you and I need to hang it up right now, after 17 years of 12 hour hospital shifts, my knees and other joints are really feeling it. I don't work as much as I used to though, and I need to make it for six more years, then should be well off enough to call it quits at 62 as long as I don't get extravagant the next six years.

I've got 13 months to go to retirement....April 2012....I'll be 56....My only concern is fat boy Gov. Chris Christie of NJ will push thru major pension reforms before then....just my luck after 24+ years now things are gonna change....hopefully the unions will go to court over the reforms and sting things out past next April.....don't get me wrong, I'm can support some reforms, but not the huge deduction increases and the 62 retirement age (from 55)....the thing to remember is the State of NJ has not made their required contribution to the pension fund in over 12 years.....about 3B$ this year alone

That is awesome. I'm 55, will keep working until around 62. The good news is I love my job, my boss and his boss are both great and I have it made, make a great living. I know it puts me in a huge minority, I feel very fortunate and I'd be completely embarrassed to complain about anything job related.
