2000 yards in the pool today: 1 X 500 breaststroke, 1 X 500 freestyle, 1 X 1000 freestyle w/pull buoy. Sawm relaxed with long strokes today. One of my better efforts.

Tomorrow will be a morning swim (play time!) and then a long run at lunch. After that, it's a three day weekend!

Here's to exercising and being in shape!

Good work everyone..Dannyspell....Kepp on the path my friend..

Back in February I decided I was going to get certified as a PT this last Saturday I passed my NASM CPT test and I'm now working on a corrective exercise, senior fitness and Nutrition certifications through NASM. I also have 5 interviews setup with 24hr Fitness in my area. I'm hoping I can help others achieve their fitness goals

Well I got my swim in this morning. 1 X 1000 and 1 X 200. That's 5000 for the week. Granted my friend does that in one workout sometimes but he's part fish!

I'll get out for a run at lunch today. Just a nice cruise to enjoy the hills and the weather.

Congrats to ya goldtop! You'll be a good teacher. Of course if you have a client that is into guitars and/or the ABB, I doubt there will be a lot of exercise to talk about!

Keep chugging away danny! As long as you're doing something, you're ahead of the game. Cheers!

Good workout tonight. Left arm is starting to be getting a little stronger. Might pump up the volume some next week. I was able to tie my shoes for the first time since the stroke....

Thanks guys for the kind words. It's my second go around in that field. As a teen I did a lot of bodybuilding and worked at a Gym at the time. Then I got fat and old...then I got old and skinny...so now that I'm skinny...that's what people tell me...I don't have that body image of myself but whatever...I though I'd go and dive back in. Since I'm 55 I thought senior fitness would be a good direction to go. So I have 4 certs I applied for. Got the first one Saturday, CPT. Now I'm going on the next one in line corrective exercise then senior fitness and Nutrition....that I need for me too...I lost 5 LBS this week and I don't want to lose anymore weight. I think it's just the stress of so many things happening at once. But I am an ectomorph by nature so if I'm active I lose weight easy. I just can't eat enough at this age to even maintain a weight, so I'm gonna try some weight gain supplements so I can at least maintain 185. If I don't eat a whole meal before i go to bed I will lose about a pound a day.

Had another Interview today and I have a second interview June 3 for them to watch me take a client through the process. Got my fingers crossed because that's the club I want to work at. Affluent area....clean...

Well finally-a-Friday! 1800 yards yesterday in the pool + 1200 this morning. This morning's swim was chill with 6 X 200 freestyle. Lunch today will be an easy 4 mile run. It's warm already (humid too) and will be hot this weekend. Cheers gang!

Thanks GT! It was a good week.

Congrats on the job! You'll turn 'em into lean, mean fightin' machines... or at least ABB fans! Rock On!

You guys rock. Still working it, slowly but steadily increasing my cardio work. Bench is back up to 280, feels great. Weight hanging around 220, clothes are getting looser though. I want to be 205 by September. We'll see!

Knee's been a little sore of late so no running this week, just swimming. Two good workouts so far. Today, after a warm up, was 10 X 100 for times. Felt pretty good and finished strong.

Best part was some compliments I got: I look younger than I am and I have strong looking arms (from the pretty gal in the lane next to me wearing a bikini ). I owe it all to exercise... and being able to be my "own best friend"

Nice 3.5 mile run yesterday with some healthy elevation changes...felt great! Weight down to 218. Chest, back, and abs today, going for 5 miles on the treadmill afterwards. 205, here I come!

Got 4 swims in this week plus did an easy run on the walk/job path by my office during lunch today. Knee is still acting up a bit. A co-worker suggested taking Ibuprofen since it's also an anti-inflamitory. I'll give it a try.

Here's to a Finally-A-Friday gang. Have a good weekend and keep pushing it!

Occassionally I'll have some knee soreness right around the kneecap when I run more, or after I haven't run as much for a short period of time. Seems to go away, and ibuprofen is helpful, as well as ice. Keep on working!

Right on Danny! Sounds like you're moving in the right direction.

Thanks for the info Doug. It's funny after I ran yesterday, my knee didn't bother me at all. Go figure... maybe it was the weekend vibes coming on!

I failed to mention my normal weight is 190. So to lose down to 160 I looked like a stick man...

Keep up the good work....glad to hear you feeling stronger

I've had some good wo's...I can see the difference in my legs. They put on some good size in the last few months. Been hitting them hard with walking lunges after squats....ouch...Walking lunges make me almost delirious after a couple sets..Great way to isolate each leg and they're great for the glutes....

Up to 3 sets of 12 at 225 on my squats, noce to be moving back up there. I'm seeing a noticeable increase in strength lately for some reason, even though my weight is slowly dropping. *I may start doing some track workouts in the afternoons now that it's summer. Nothing like 2 a days 3 times a week! Keep on working folks.

No, but I do a set of 15 on the glute machine. And I do some kind of cardio (run, elliptical machine, jump rope, rowing machine) every day to work my legs also.
