imho,Gregg merits a blues category grammy(at the least!) for LCB--any thoughts?

also, perhaps it's time for the (dopey) RRHOF to induct Gregg as an individual artist & songwriter for his work over the past 40 something years--any thoughts?

Just like you can't put Don Mattingly in the HOF you really can't put Gregg in. He just hasn't recorded enough as a solo artist. How come nobody is talking about' Playing up a Storm' ? Alot slicker than Laid Back and not the classic that Laid Back is but clearly that album was a real good follow up to Laid Back.

I would have to agree he really has not done alot. Too much wasted time. This one is good but he only co-wrote one song. Putting something out once every ten years on average. Hopefully now that he is healthy and sober he will stay focused.

Grammy...I think he has a great shot at a nomination and a fair shot at a win.

RRHOF...Not likely at all.

I think heís in the HOF under the right category (as part of The Allman Brothers). As much as I enjoy his solo material I just donít think it warrants induction into the HOF. Just my opinion, your mileage can and will vary.

A Grammy could easily be reality....maybe even a nomination for Blues Album of the year....who knows? I'm just glad he is finally getting some well deserved national exposure. A RRHOF nomination is, and this is just my opinion isn't that far fetched an idea. Who knows?

LCB absolutely deserves a Grammy in the blues category. I must admit though I'm really not so familiar with many of the blues artists out there today and what their producing. Based on the quality of the work of the cracker jack marketing department at Rounder Records and the quality of the album, Gregg has a great shot at winning the Grammy in the blues category this year.

If anybody should go into the R&RHOF as an individual it's Duane. Just think about all the great session work he did, with all those great musicians, in such a short time. As Rolling Stone said when it named him the second greatest guitarist of all time, Skydog would have been on their list even if the Allman Brothers never existed....

RRHOF is a joke. They shouldn't even want to be in it.

"Low Country Blues" is a Grammy contender for sure. The record company has to submit it for consideration so hopefully Rounder will do so. They've been on the ball so far.

My 2 centavos:

Gregg should get a Grammy for LCB. No doubt about that. It's high quality first class music.

Gregg deserves a place in the RRHOF for his solo career. Laid Back is one of the best rock albums ever recorded.
He has produced great music and has been on the road making music for fans all these years. Besides, when you
see some who are ithere, he is far superior.

It is a disgrace that Duane has not already been inducted as a solo artist. He definitely should be there.

I've been accused of being a lover of all things Allman! Guilty as charged!
