Todd Snyder wrote this piece, something I expect most of us have thought about, whether it be Bob, or some other musical hero. Garage door, LOL!

I'd probably try to get Bob talking about spirituality or some of his favorite songwriters. Anything to keep him from a yes or no answer, or the dreaded walk-away!

But their name should be Bob if you say "hi, Bob".

If you see him, say hello ...

I'd love to talk with him about his film history. Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid ... and especially about Masked and Anonymous - as I am a huge fan of that one (about the only one, it seems).

Maybe talk about traveling - he's been everywhere twice.

3 Things

1. Could you please get me soundboard copies of the Rolling Thunder shows from 75? I mean Bob if the idiots at Sony Music let them sit in the vaults rotting why not set it free? That “best of” compilation Bootleg release of the 75 tour was in insult to your genius Bob.

2.Any chance you could arrange a chance for me to meet Willie Nelson on his tour bus next time he comes through my town?

3. I love the song, but what the hell does Positively4thstreet mean?

I would probably say stuff like...

"I know you're a fan of Ralph Stanley, Muddy Waters, Ornette Coleman,
Woody Guthrie, Gene Vincent and the Blue Caps, Odetta, the Clancy Bros.,
etc. What were your favorite records by them and what would you recommend
that I should listen to by those artists?"

"What was it like seeing Buddy Holly at the Duluth Armory?"

thanks for that, a great read. I just say hi, and thanks. the gushing must get old for those guys.

met Todd Snyder once after a solo show in Chattanooga a couple years ago. Partied in his hotel room after the show, my 3 buds, me, todd, and his female assistant. Todd was on schrooms and getting weird as we sat around and shot the shiite. i was pretty drunk, and it'd been a long day. i eventually asked him about his tie, and flipped it, saying what's with this?? oops. i sat down and shut up the rest of the night, but we got booted when my friend started singing Todd a song that he wrote about the Queen of Uranus. this was after his ramblin version of his other song F*ck the Queen... his manager dude comes into the room and tells us it's time to go - indeed it was...

i still think he needs to lose the tie, or at least wear one that is cut off (as in the old signs that'd say "No ties after 5pm" and the bar would have various half ties hanging from the wall)

Bob Dylan or Dylan Thomas? If it was Bob I would ask him; Was Joan Baez any good and are you really that much of a goof or is just an act?

May 8, 1991 Albany New york. Palace Theatre. After the gig me & a friend were waiting by the load-out. Within seconds after the final song, out he went as he made his way towards his trailer! His head was covered by a towel but his eyes stared right at me! I grinned but didn't say a word! To this day I did NOT regret that I didn't say anything........

I don't like to go up to celebrities because most of them need their personal space, which has been violated too many times. Dylan is just human like all of us no matter how legendary his fame is.

That said, if it was an arranged meeting (which is highly unlikely) where Dylan is aware that I am about to meet him, I'd probably ask about any upcoming music project.
I wouldn't dare tell him "thank you for all that great music you gave us!!!" because I find that kind of statement too petty and obvious. Also I doubt Dylan would probably want to continue a conversation after hearing that sort of statement!
