Hello Groovy People,

They released the 2011 Jazz Fest lineup last night, and the "Gregg Allman Blues Band" is on the list

Check out the full lineup here....

I have to say, possibly for the first time ever, I'm a little disappointed in this lineup. There are several people on that list that I personally don't think have any business at Jazz Fest. I won't name names, no need to be ugly, but I think most of you will know who I'm talking about.

It's great to see Gregg on there, as well as Jeff Beck, Sonny Rollins and many more. I'm sure it will still be a wonderful fest, based on the local acts alone, but I might sit this one out.

In looking at the acts as a whole, I could pick out several that I would like to see if I could create's a day's lineup. But I don't think I would pay to go to any individual day either.

I am with you guys. All I can do is Wanee anyway this year.

Tab B, Sonny L, Gregg and Jeff B, Bobby Blue B, Robert P and a few more look good.

Well if some of headliner don't suit you (and many of them wouldn't suit me), then I would wander around and check out some of the "local acts" at the Festival. Some of New Orlean's local acts are "far better" and more "fun to listen to" than the "names". I remember when I was in New Orleans hearing some 14/15 year old girls singing some gospel, and they completely blew me away with their talent and harmony singing.

Well said. I went last year and am going first weekend this year. I spent much of my time at the Fai Do Do (sp?) tent, and it rocked.

Id love to go to this festival but to me the headliners are an added bonus to the amount of local bands

I'm taking note of the "Blues" in the name of the band. It has a nice ring to it...

Devon's posting on hes FB about the great music happening now in NYC. It would be nice to have a bit of a family reunion come springtime in New Orleans.
