Hey there sweet family,

Starbucks has something more than caffeine to jump start your day now - Low Country Blues is available there. Whoo hoo!

Take care and know that you are loved,

Lana

I usually wait until Friday to get a hot chocolate on the way to work but I think I might have to treat myself a little earlier in the week! I might even have to buy an extra copy or two for my favorite coffee servers; keeps The Vibe Alive!

I was planning on heading to the Borders to pick up the new CD at lunch but there's a Starbucks right across the street from my office. Between the weather and a busy day, I guess I'm heading to Starbucks but I hate their coffee also. I've been working in the same place going on 5 years and never stepped foot in that place. Can't wait to rip the disc to my Ipod for the way home.

Ya don't hafta buy coffee. But if you do, try a Mocha. Those are really good. I agree with you about the rest of their coffee. Almost like drinking charcoal.

If there's a Best Buy near you, you might consider that. You can get the CD and a '74 Gregg Allman Tour t-shirt for $13.99.

I thought this was about the time me and Susea ran into Gregg in the Starbucks at the hotel in Redrocks. They should offer his record, he buys enough coffee.

I guess if you are going to "sell out", Starbucks is the place to do it. The next thing you are going to tell me is that Live Nation is taking over Wannee? I guess it is just a business and it isn't about the fans or the music anymore, money rules.

They should get it while they can, the road does not go on forever.

Yeah what a sin to sell a product in a retail outlet. Oh for shame! What were they thinking?!?!

LOL! Making a CD available at different stores is in no way a sell-out.

I just wish they had it at Dunkin Donuts!

LOL!! Always one in every crowd.

The Road Goes On Forever... with my Starbucks in my hand and cranking my Gregg CD... works for me!

Agreed. Selling your record in a store is not a sell out. It's not like there's a Starbuck's logo on the B-3 or is there any " Gregg Allman brought to you by Starbucks " copy anywhere on the packaging. I love the sell out chatter on music sites. Thanks for reminding me once again that making money so you can make more records and employ your staff/crew = bad. Maybe I'll quit work so I'm not a sell out. So the bank takes my house, at least I'm a true artist.

Isn't the point of making a CD to sell it in retail outlets?

I dont' get being a sellout either. You made the music, sell it. What are they suppose to do, make music and then give it away and then live their lives in a homeless shelter? I heard the Beacon shows will be free this year too, make your plans early.

I bought mine in Starbucks yesterday and an interesting thing happened. I gave the cd to a guy behind the counter and it didn't scan, because they had just gotten them in the store (that's what he told me; still doesn't make sense to me). So he says to me, "grab another cd, different artist, and I will just scan that one, they are all the same price. I will tell my boss about it later." I started thinking that is kind of weird. Does Gregg get f'ed when another cd is scanned but its not his? I assume they will reverse out the purchases like mine?

I believe Starbucks bought the CD's from Rounder at a discount and then they sell it for the list price, so the record company/Gregg have technically been paid for the CD but in the great sound scan in the sky, he probably did not get credit for moving the CD. I'm pretty sure that's how it works. By time you buy the CD from a retailer, you're paying them, not necessarily the musician or record company. Anyone out there in the biz, correct me if I'm wrong.
