After achieving Peach Master yesterday I was reflecting back on when I first logged on to this forum. I logged on 3 days before The ABB were doing a Houston show (their last show of the tour) and I hadn't seen the band in quite some time so obviously I was getting pretty fired up. I remember TerriB and Pam welcoming me to this site and helping me learn to navigate and use this site as far as quotes and such. Anyway that was 15 months ago and I've had a pretty good time here. Anyone have stories of their first post here or does anyone even care I did a quick search and actually pulled mine up...it was on the Guest Book with the first reply....pretty cool

Kaziup, welcome to the guestbook. Please give us a review of the Houston show. Too bad my friends don't live in The Woodlands anymore. They were real close to the venue. I used to go visit them du...

Mine was apparently posted on 1/27/2002 at 07:02 PM. "So we're just padding our stats, eh?" I said. It was in the "what a topic name!" thread. Funny how much the Forum was already like it is now, even though it was only about 2 months old. Cliff was posting the same kind of stuff he is now, Gina was nuts, etc....

I imagine so, but he didn't show up until a few months later. He was probably trying to re-enroll in the third grade at the time.

You can do it a couple of different ways. I guess the easiest is to find your own profile and click on "Find all posts by this user" and just scroll to the bottom of the page.

I started to bump a few of those while I was digging around but decided to let sleeping dogs lie. It was kinda humorous looking back on the old posts.

My first post was on the old site. Those were the salad days of the Forum...and the GB.

I found mine by just putting my screen name in on the GB page and hit search....popped right up. But I knew mine was in the GB.

The oldest guestbook post I could find was from 6/8/00. "Happy Birthday, Derek! You da man! Can't wait to see you August 4! --Marley"

Not sure if that was my first or not. I know I didn't go to the old forum much.

My reply was....
and still is

quote:
Hmm..Tough one. Here goes...

Imagine - Lennon
Blue Sky - ABB
Wouldnt It Be Nice- Beach Boys
Box Of Rain - Dead
Nowhere Man - Beatles (one of Johns best compositions, i think.)

greetings:

I put my first post in a wrong catergory "imagine that" It is kewl havin people you don't even really know give some lovin your way. Especially when people disagree, as we humans seem to have priors going way back. Here people (at least towards me) respond with kindness and are not rude. Even if ya may deserve it... articulation isn't a attribute that everyone posseses but being kewl to others is an easy one to overcome if ya can't quite get a handle on that trip.
I am not no better than anyone else and there are tons of people way smarter and informed bout stuff than I am. Guess what ? I can be wrong ! Thanks for this lil corner of the world to frequent and "live n learn" bout everything undr the sun. Which by the way...isn't nothing new under.
Seems like I have had way too much caffiene today

Laters
Be Blessed
Brother James

My first post was on the old site, probably 1997....ennyhoo.... I had just bought a PC and hit the net, typed in ALLMAN BROTHERS on Yahoo search, clicked on HTW and lo and behold, I've stuck around....... didn't visit the forum very often back then though..... Lana invited me to log on the new site while she and Roland were testing it.....it's certainly grown. I miss alot of the folks who were around back then.

My first post was to the old site, and I think it might have been in response to Bro EJ wanting to get a duster like Dickeys ... anyone remember that ?

I'm too ashamed to say what my 1st post was, but it was in response to what I thought was crap.
Reeled in by a festering old thread.

Well, I can't recall the old guest book first post, but here's the first for me on the current HTW site. It was before it was 'open to the public' and a few of us were allowed to play around and be guinea pigs.

Hey y'all..*smile*...I'm just a peeking and a poking trying to get myself oriented in the new house. I get the big room in the front with the fireplace!! Called it. *hee hee* Hey, I may be over 13 and able to register without parental consent, but that doesn't mean I always act it. Anyway, I'm off and running to check out the other goodies. Thanks Lana and Rowland for caring enough to make a great place even better!

I stayed in the GB mostly and have only recently ventured into the Forum. It's kinda the same but different. Both are full of interesting characters that can bring a *smile* to my face pretty easily.

Thanks again, Lana & Rowland!

I registered to get emails from Lana back in early 2000 so I could get tour dates. I put a comment on the old site about the Cincy show that summer. But I never posted or went to the forum.

I never posted on the forum til this year when PhotoRon offered a New Years freebie for a newbie.

So it's all Rons fault I'm here

I remember Bro EJ and that Duster hunt....and lots of other people that are no longer around, run off by the uproar surrounding Dickey leaving.
