In this never-before-transcribed interview, done while he was road manager for the Dixie Dregs, the late Twiggs Lyndon provided a wealth of gear details about the Dixie Dregs and, in passing, the Allman Brothers. He also advised bands on how to make tour vehicles more road-worthy. Plus, Steve Morse details Duane Allman's famous sunburst Les Paul, which Twiggs owned and had on the road with him at the time of his death.

While the interview is more focused on the Dixie Dregs than the Allman Brothers. it does give great insight into Twiggs' personality and indomitable spirit, which were so essential to the Allman Brothers band during the Duane era. http://jasobrecht.com/twiggs-lyndon-talks-gear-unpublished-1978-interview/

Thanks for the link. Sometimes people forget what an ingenious man Twiggs was (not to mention good lookin').

I had to laugh when he was explaining one of his rigs, "It's easy, anyone can do it". Not so. And when he did anything, he did it RIGHT or he kept at it til it was perfect. It was amazing to watch him work.

"Twiggs Approved" indeed. I sure would love to see Steve Morse sit in with the ABB.
