According to the Moogis website, it will cost you $175 to watch 8 2011 Beacon shows. This works out to $22 per show. Maybe it is me, but I have never heard of a streamed concert costing $22. Yes, you also get access to archived shows, but this is nothing new.

Is that just for the '11 Beacon shows or a one year subscription?

For one year, that's not too bad. For those of you out there that have subscribed before, how does this rate?

Yeah you are correct! I'm looking at an E-mail form Butch/Moogis dated Jan. 14th 2010 about FMM's and the discounts we were gonna receive. What happened to that? Butch please tellus!!!!

I'll go to 3 Beacon shows so it will cost even more per show to have moogis. I have been satisfied overall with the experience. I sent an e-mail to Moogis inquiring about the renewal situation for existing subscribers. I, too, am a "charter" subscriber.

I love the Moogis but the cost is getting out of my price range. iClips broadcasts a lot of shows for free. There's got to be somewhere between free and $21.88 per show that will work. They might get more subscribers at a lower price. It's nice to know you have access for the whole year but I usually only find the time to watch the shows as they happen and rarely afterward.

Yea, saw the email today was excited, until I saw what they want to charge Didn't I pay like 100.00 for the 40th anniversary Beacon run? I thought we were in a down economy oh well thats a bummer Id like to subscribe but at almost 3x as much (Im referring to the full subscription here, but correct me if I am wrong) for a lot less shows a little hard to justify at the moment dang

I've been a subscriber since the very 1st day subscriptions were offered. But I'm afraid I'll just have to pass this time due to a mix of "can't afford it" and "not worth it". 2009 was fantastic. There was a significant drop in quality in 2010. Now it's just flat priced out of my reach.

Was the drop in quality of the stream or the shows?

I'm also curious about the existing member discounts, it will make a difference if I get 2011 or not.

Here is last yr's email re the founding members deal. I'm guessing the #s were not met, or if they were, there is no way to prove that.

Hi Everyone – We’ve got quite a few things to discuss today, so let’s get down to it.

If you haven’t already bought your subscription for the Allman Brothers Band March 2010 New York City Run at The Palace Theater, please go to www.moogis.com and take care of it now. Let me explain why this is a good idea.

On January 24, the cost for a Moogis subscription will increase over the current subscription rate. Right now the cost is $150 for a new subscriber. Or, $90 if you have recently paid $60 to extend your Moogis subscription until March 1, 2010. But, as I said, the costs are going higher after January 24.

When you think about it, this is an amazing deal. Check out the Moogis website for all the details of what you receive as a Moogis subscriber. We’re doing everything we can do to hold the line on costs but some of the increases are unavoidable.

But, now, let me move on to something that I think will really excite you.

We have big plans for Moogis that go way beyond webcasting the Allman Brothers Band's New York run every year and we've been thinking for sometime about doing something special for our early subscribers. This is what we’ve come up with:

The first 5,000 subscribers will become Founding Members of Moogis (FMM). Once we have enough subscribers to be consistently profitable, our FMM will be granted lifetime discounts that will increase as subscribers increase.

-- Once we get 10,000 subscribers, all FMM will get a 20% discount on all future Moogis subsriptions.
-- Once we get 20,000 subscribers, all FMM will get a 40% discount on all future Moogis subsriptions.
-- Once we get 30,000 subscribers, all FMM will get a 60% discount on all future Moogis subsriptions.
-- Once we get 40,000 subscribers, all Founding Members will get a 80% discount on all future Moogis subsriptions.
-- Once we get 50,000 subscribers, all Founding Members will get everything Moogis does for free.

This is a way we can thank those of you who have been with us from the beginning. It has meant so much to us to receive the support that you have given us and the Founding Members of Moogis concept is something that we can give back to you. We’ll be giving you more details for FMM shortly. But, first, we need to reach some subscription goals.

So, if you haven’t already renewed your subscription or signed up for this year’s ABB NYC Run, you need to do this before the price goes up. If you have already taken the steps necessary to get on board, you could really help us by spreading the word to others that you think would be interested in participating in the Moogis experience. We want as many people as possible to experience what we will present this year.

OK, everyone. Please go visit the Moogis forums and start to interact with all the other people that shared the same historic musical and social experiences that resulted from Moogis and The Allman Brothers Band.

Your Friend,
Butch Trucks

agree it's a bit much for the iffy value of past Moogis tranmissions. It pains me to pass on it . Why no discount for past subscribers, Butch?

You get the 2011 Beacon shows and one year worth of other shows but you have you re-subscribe (renew) for the 2012 Beacon shows. You have all year to re-watch the 2011 Beacon shows with your subscription this year (2011).

Well with Moogis you can watch it France and not have to pay considerably more for plane tickets to get to the Beacon, plus the airport insults! Touche

Had Moogis last year and the year before and enjoyed it but $150 was my limit for something like that so I've been priced out. Going to one live and maybe one more and that will be it this year. I have seen the old footage enough times and ain't paying $175 for 8 shows when I paid $100 for 15 shows just two years ago. For those willing, enjoy!

Hopefully they'll visit the Western New York area this Summer. That, I'm in for.

I thought price of concerts was supposed to drop this year? I'm another charter member. Moogis provides a nice service and I applaud Butch for what he started but these days it comes back to money. Price was borderline last year. Just too much this year - I'm out.

I think Moogis is great! I currently have a subscription that will expire in early March. I think it’s a wonderful concept and I thank Butch Trucks for all of his hard work creating it.
Unfortunately the new price is out of my league.

I wish the venture all of the success and I hope I will get to see the shows again one day.

I'll purchase Moogis again this year even though I plan on attending as many in person as I possibly could. Don't have a single ticket yet. Moogis party at my place for the shows that I will be home for

Ive never tried Moogis, so I think this is the year. At a bare minimum , I can spend 225$ on myself for one show at the Beacon, more like 270 and up. If I get 7-8 friends to go in on the run, which they suggest anyway. Thats only 32 bucks a piece, for the whole run.
I would rather not have to drive 9 hours, park and eat in NYC. Or deal with the full cavity search going in, or the morons in my aisle that needed to get up and leave and come back to their seat like 24 times in the night.
You guys can pay like 600 bucks to see 2 shows , im going to see the whole run for 30-50 bucks with my friends in my living room, with no morons! Woo hoo!
