This should really be in the Trades section, where people look for BnP's.

Yeah, but some over there have too many rules. Not like it used to be in the old days of this website when everybody traded, B&P'ed, adopt newbies, it used to be fun.

Now you have your trading history checked by someone, kind of like going for a job interview and the employer checks your references.

Yeah, the trades section used to be fun.

The few people who have rules are the only traders left here and they have rules because all the takers have sent the other traders packing...I think you have been around long enough but maybe not. Either way, that is the place whre you should be dealing with the real traders, not the takers.

Have mercy!

Vines, freebies, trades, B&P's.

All belong in the Trades section in the Music forum.

Just sayin'.

And Chuck has been known to toss a few hundred shows here and there.

This is still a great community. The bigger we get, the more bad apples that get in. It's human nature.

Whatever happened to Bonscott55 anyway?

I know, Chuck, Ed has spread a TON of music. And so have you, obviously. I was just responding to what he said to Wayne. A lot of people spread a lot of music - they just do it behind the scenes and not in the trades section. I have been labeled as a "taker" and had my name slandered here by people I thought were my friends because they made a judgment that I have never shared. For the last year or so, that was true. Sometimes that happens when you are out of work and have a crappy laptop with no functional burner. And I didn't sign up for any B&Ps- well, I take that back, I signed up for one of yours, and was then embarrassed publicly by someone else. I didn't deserve it - over the years I have done a quite bit of sharing, but it's not always in the trades section. That doesn't mean that it isn't being done. But if it makes some people feel better to rip someone, more power to 'em. But they oughta do their homework and get their facts straight before they pull the trigger.

When I first got into collecting shows brofan was one of the several who helped me start to gather a collection and never refused me a BnP or freebie. That is true for several others (Hugh, Chuck, Ed, Clay, cupofjoe, abbmonk, Ron, Phil and many others). Sorry I missed that or I would have had your back. I learned from the generosity of others that, after getting together a decent collection, giving back was just as much fun. But I also know where Ed is coming from. I had a complete Beacon offer up a few years ago that was filled. A "taker" PM'd me after it was filled, begged me to do another. So I explained to him I was busy but if wanted to send the pack that I would burn it as soon as I was able. Well, three days after I got the pack the guy sends me a PM wanting to know where his discs were. This is one of many stories, and is why I believe a lot of the good traders have disappeared. Ron's point that it should be in the trades section is well taken, but more than anything I'm just happy to see the offer. Thank you bluesguy.

You are correct the Trades section used to be a lot of fun...Then came the Takers & people who felt so entitled to shows that they would send pkg's for offers they weren't even in on & send pkg's out of the blue asking for shows off people's lists & sending "x-tra discs hoping for more free music...all the while not re-offering anything back in the trades section.
as far as "too many rules...I only know of TWO being used. The "Coot Rule" (you must have made an offer on the trades forum in the last 3 months to qualify for an offer ) .Obviously designed to get people to share & not just take. & "the Sal Rule" I'm sure you know why that's used...mainly by me. If two rules are just too many for Ya...oh well.I wish the rules didn't need to be there as much as you.
Oh,btw, nice offer...hopefully someone who get's in on it will actually Re-offer....That's how to get the "fun" back into the Trades section.

Just another example of how traders (myself included, although currently retired) take this stuff way too seriously. Thread hi-jacked because it might be posted in the wrong forum?

Look at it another way. Maybe folks who don't venture over to trades/vines would like a shot at the shows. On the other hand they probably don't know how to do a b&p.

I think posting here could be a good thing. Get some new blood involved, educate & hopefully add some zip to the trades/vines forums.

Great offer, I hit the whole run, 3 great shows!
