That was one hell of a show. Wow. The sucker ended around 1:45am. I went to the first one ten years ago and it was unreal, but they blew the place apart last night. I absolutely love that the ABB did the arrangement of the Weight like it’s done on the Duane Anthology with Aretha. They totally killed it. Derek during Whipping Post was like nothing I have ever seen or heard. He was smoking. I thought the guitar might just light on fire. The Black Hearted Woman/Other One jam they absolutely pounded into the ground; so good. Another sick highlight was Whiskey Rock n Roller with the North MS Duo, Artemis Pyle and others. There is just too much to remember right now. Stay With Me was friggin’ awesome too. I’m a Ram is one of my all time favorites, so I was glad to see that done with Gordie Johnson. Dear Prudence was phenomenal too. The North MS Duo was really good. For the first few songs, my friends and I were asking each other, is it possible for just two guys to make so much racket…good time fun racket that is.

I thought it was a very nice touch that they brought out Savannah Woody to sing Soulshine. It looked pretty emotional for those on stage. They had programs that they gave out when you walked in, and it had some interviews with Matt, Warren and others. In Matt’s interview he actually comments that he can’t wait to have Savannah play bass with them. Apparently she plays, although last night she just sang. Talk about baptism by fire, she got up there with Mule in front of several thousand fans who were there to honor her father and she handled it quite well.

What a night of music and remembrance. I bet Allen would have loved it.

Wow. How can you not tear up when watching Savannah Woody singing? And she has a nice voice. Warren had a mile wide grin while she was singing.

And a bonus....if they release the show, Lee will be able to get another official release with Soulshine on it.

What an incredible night. Just all out, start to finish. Decent crowd also. People were partying hard for a Monday ! It was like a marathon. The whole thing was awesome but my highlights were The Mule set from Gordie Johnson's spot until the end . Especially Dear Prudence and 32/20. Those 2 tunes were nuts .

The ABB set was really killer. Can't wait until the Beacon. The whole band was on fire but Derek was off the charts. He just keeps raising and raising the bar. The sound was insane. I agree with Jim about the Weight. Best Weight I've heard. I've gotten kind of tired of it over the years since almost every band I like has a version of it or it's become an encore thing were everyone takes a verse. Last night's version had almost a funky feel to it. Best Weight Ever. You heard it here first. Black Hearted Woman was like an assault. That old tune just gets crazier and crazier to me.

Loved Whiskey Rock n Roller early on with Luther . That's one of my favorite Skynyrd tunes.

Had to leave after Franklins to catch a 1:30 train but I more than got my money's worth.

Awesome. Just awesome.

So many great highlights, so many highs. The only low is my 48 year old legs holding me for 5 hours straight. Sadly had to leave for a 1:06 train, walked out during Weight (OUCH!). But what a show. Mule smoked, missed the NMAS bass player. Glad the drummer played some washboard for Mule as my wife hasn't seen them live.

Show was well worth a Monday night excursion. Next stop: NYE.

What a great night, The Mule and the Brothers were awesome. I just became a fan of the North Mississippi Allstars. The last song of Warren's acoustic set was I Shall Be Released sung in harmony with KK & sorry I don't recall his name, was fantastic. I got my money's worth before the ABB even came on.

I hope they made a ton of money for the charity.

Edwin McCain was the 3rd member of the opening acoustic set w/ Warren and Kevin Kinney. Nice harmonies on that one.

Also Artimus Pyle took Jaimoe's spot on drums during "One Way Out"

Awesome night of music, in addition to the songs mentioned, I'd toss out "Wishing Well" as well as the Crowes' "Sometimes Salvation" as another couple of highlights.

Steady, that was Edwin McCain. Also, a song missing from the end of the show. Wish You Were Here with BOJ, Gordie Johnson and Danny Louis. It was really a sing along.

And Warren had a few tears in his eyes. For Simple Man, Sometimes Salvation, Soulshine and Savannah. Sweet man.
