Saw a great show by Furthur last night. An Old School show last night. Jon Kadlecik sure sings and plays guitar like Jerry. Incredible. The show stopper was an awesome Death Don't Have No Mercy. I sure wish the Brothers would play this tune. Greg and Warren trading vocals would be sweet. Bill Walton was in the house. Here is the setlist:

Set1
Help on the Way>
Slipknot >
Shakedown Street
Jackrstaw
El Paso
Wharf Rat
Two Djinn
Terrapin Station Suite

Set 2
The Mountain Song >
Dark Star
The Other One
Saint Steven >
The Eleven >
Death Don't Have No Mecry
Franklin's' Tower

Encore:
Saturday Night

Wow, that 2d set looks like a dream come true. Even just a Dark Star back in the day would have been epic. The Eleven, very cool.

But why split up Help>Slip>Franklin's? The whole bookends thing is getting a little tired, and I can't imagine Franklin's really fit w/ what came before.

Still, that looks incredible, all quibbling aside. Thanks.

saw the sunday nite show(last nite) & it was alot of fun......not exactly a concert i'll consider great, but certainly an enjoyable evening of a GD cover band

the added background singers--good idea--covers up some of Weir's singing....Lesh was phenomenal & thundering on bass & the keyboard player was very prominent in the sound & very talented....

Jeff Chimenti has been carrying this thing for awhile now. Without him on keys, it would not be that grate. They really need to take the training wheels off John Kadlecik and let him go, go, go.

I just can't pass up on any chance to see Phil & Bobby. The road does not go on forever.

Night 2 looks better on paper IMO. Downloading both shows though to enjoy over a long weekend

On Bill Walton seems he took in a few Northeast shows

I couldn't agree more. Saw them Sat nite and was much better than the Radio City shows last Winter....The backup singers also know all the words to the songs

Effie - these were 3 things I really noticed at the Further show I attended last month. The back-up singers really enhanced the vocals (something I always enjoyed about the GD of the past was the harmonizing on certain tunes and the added singers have brought this back), Jeff C. was most excellent in the keyboard role, and Phil was kicking butt (and very smiley - it was a joy to watch him have so much fun playing).

Listening to the Saturday show now. Phil's bass is kicking my ass. Just awesome. I have to agree about Jeff Chimenti. He was especially awesome on keys during Death Don't Have No Mercy. I had tickets behind the stage and I had a great view of him switching off the key instruments.
