He's sat in with the band playing drums quite a handful of times ( even when I saw them last year in Nashville) and I can't seem to find out who he is and why the band brings him up with them from time-to-time.

Anybody have some info?

"Jaimoe Junior" is the band's drum tech.

He sits in from time to time.

Monday in Albany he filled in for the last half of No One Left to Run With.

Didn't Jamo also play with Gregg's solo band at one time?

I was thinking the same thing today,He played on No one to run with and sounded great nice and tight playing.during the show he was like a student constantly watching Jaimoe play while sitting on a stool against the back wall.maybe a eventual replacement for jaimoe if he can't play a whole tour??

He was with GA&F at Turning Stone last year as a drum tech and played percussion on one or two songs.

Honestly, he is the only one in my opinion fit to take over for Jaimoe.

Let me clarify, I don't mind other drummers sitting in, but they are just that, someone well-liked sitting in playing their chops.

James van de Bogert has a real feel for the music and can play off Butch in the way Jaimoe does and he's the only one I've heard do that (other than Marc).

I've said it before and I'll say it again, it cannot even be a question that the ABB have had their share of the most incredible guitar players ever from Duane to Derek and everyone in between, but what makes the ABB so intense is the drummers. When they are on, the band will reach the greatest heights...

PaulG, I agree completely. I saw James sit in for Gregg's drummer, Steve Potts,
for an entire Gregg & Friends show in Baltimore 2 years ago. Steve must have been
sick? The band did not miss a beat and neither did James. I was extremely impressed
with his ability to take over for an entire show and he just smoked.

He's a sweetheart and an excellent drummer. He takes good care of Jaimoe!
