Any fans of Lizzy out there? Not sure if the Mule ever covered Lizzy but what songs would you like to see them cover? A couple that come to mind for me would be Wild One, Boys are Back In Town, Still In Love With You & Chinatown.

Me and my wife were just sitting here discussing your question and we dont believe The Mule has covered any Thin Lizzy tunes! But as she has put it and (i agree) anything Warren touches turns to gold so The boys are back in town would be a great cover tune!

Yup, me too. Heard "Whiskey in a Jar" in the car the other day, nice surprise. That would work too.

The Mule would kill " Slow Blues " , saw Thin Lizzy in 1976 and have been a fan since .

IMHO unless they did something from the Eric Bell years they would need another guitar player, just sayin. As talented as Warren is, the dynamic between two players needs to be there. Afterall is is Lizzy !

I personally would not choose "Whiskey In The Jar" (which is not a TL song anyway) and "The Boys Are Back In Town". Both are kinda overplayed and many cover versions already exist. But hearing a Thin Lizzy cover in a Mule set would be fantastic.

A very moody song that would suit Warren and the Mule perfectly would be
"When The Sun Goes Down".

But i actually would be even more thrilled to hear a Rory Gallagher cover...

So many too choose from....

Cowboy Song was the 1st one in my head as well.

But I'd take any of these as well;
Southbound,
Suicide- let Warren work out the tone knob and wah on this one
Johnny the Fox

Apparently I need to check out some Thin Lizzy. What CDs do y'all recommend to start?

i would start at the begining and work my way thru the bands history. Lots of variety and something to glean from each lp/cd. mileage may vary depending on tatse(s).

"Got To Give It Up" great tune and the message wouldn't be lost on Warren or Mule fans.

Here's another vote for Live and Dangerous. The greatest Lizzy material is on there, 17 songs, and it's probably the definitive lineup of the band: Phil Lynott (bass and vocals), Scott Gorham (guitar), Brian Robertson (guitar) and Brian Downey (drums). A very hot rock 'n' roll band. It was produced by Thin Lizzy and Tony Visconti and it's got a great live sound to it; Visconti produced some of Bowie's early records.

Was a big fan of the Black Rose and Thunder & Lightening albums as well.

Big shame they left "Johnny" off the recent Still Dangerous live release.
Another awesome tune that lays deep in their catalogue.
