I saw the pic in the picture gallery of these guys rehearsing before the '75 New Years Eve show at Lakeland Civic Center in Lakeland FL. Brought back some good and not so good memories of that night. Anybody else happen to be at that show?

The Almost Brothers Band. Picture from Grants Lounge.

Standing left to right: Twiggs Lyndon, Virginia Speed, Mike Artz
Sitting left to right: David "Trash" Cole, Red Dog, and Buddy Thornton.

Grinderswitch did open. But honestly because Gregg was in such bad shape, things went from best to worst. I was front and center and remember them having to carry Gregg out around midnight and set him on the bench. After a few tunes Dickey was so pissed he threw his guitar into his amp.Not sure if he was angry at Gregg,or his rig! Never seen him that mad.
I always thought that's why Twiggs and the guys came out was because they were trying to get Gregg together enough to play. One thing for sure. They were smokin'!
Can't think of his name 35 years later, but remember Dickey brought out a guy who Dickey said taught him to play and they did a couple of tunes?

Its hard to remember the details from 35 years ago. I was on the floor, middle towards the back and couldn't see very well. Can't figure why?? I do remember some guy playing a sheet of metal to get a wa-wa sound on one song. Am I remembering right. Also seemed like there were a lot of people on stage that I didn't recognize.

Sure don't remember the sheet metal thing! There were a lot of people coming and going that night on the stage. In fact it took me a little bit to realize it was the Almost Bro's who were playing. It wasn't until I saw Twiggs that I realized it was the roadies playing.
