I was just sitting here thinking about ABB because of a thread i was reading about ABB not being some members favorite band and got me thinking about my first ABB show, and i was just curious to know when everyone first saw the Brothers in concert. Mine was in 96 at Darien Lakes Amphitheater. Yeah i know i havent been a fan of ABB like some of you members due to the fact that in the early 70s i wasnt around. My wife,Heidi has seen them numerous times prior to treating me to great night of music in 96 and we've been going to ABB shows ever since! Ive been a fan of southern rock since 1990 when my cousins dad introduced me to Stevie Ray.

I remember walking into the Colosseum and being in awe of the mirror ball and the lights it threw out as Charlie Daniels wailed away on slide.....It was also my first introduction to the CDB, I can recall saying to one of my buddies that we should have hustled up so we wouldn't have missed this guy....MTB & The ABB ...The following evening was the KSAN Broadcast from Winterland...I can remember being glued to the FM dial for that one as well, quite the event in the S.F. bay area....We were all within earshot of the N.Y.E. Broadcast from the Cow palace at a House party on the big night and the following night 1/1/74 a bunch if us made it to that show as well... I can remember Gregg saying "We're gonna boogie 'til the cows come home" and the next minute . . .he was done.

Freshman year of college and still very much a pledge in my fraternity. Apparently, I was the only pledge that got out of whatever 'work party' we were responsible for, and got to go with some brothers.

I've never been as impressed with a band, upon the first concert, as I was at that show. Warren and that slide put the hooks in me for life.

July 1980, Cape Cod Coliseum. Henry Paul Band opened. Went with my sister's boyfriend and a couple of his friends. Camped on the Cape, awesome weekend. They were all a couple of years older than me & so out of it by the time we left on Sunday that I had to drive back up to Boston, no license or even a learner's permit at the time

Never been able to find a copy of the show & it's not listed in the database but it was the "Reach For the Sky" tour. Probably something like this:

1. Don't Want You No More
2. It's Not My Cross To Bear
3. Can't Take It With You
4. Blue Sky
5. Need Your Love So Bad
6. Angeline
7. Mystery Woman
8. Just Ain't Easy
9. I Got A Right To Be Wrong
10. Try It One More Time
11. Statesboro Blues
12. From The Madness Of The West
13. One Way Out
14. Jessica
15. Whipping Post
16. Pegasus
17. Southbound
18. Ramblin' Man
19. In Memory of Elizabeth Reed

<edit>

Forgot one important detail. While it was a great weekend the smoking hot older girl that I was supposed to share a tent with ended up bailing at the last minute. I got to share the tent with her brother instead

Ever see the movie "Tough Guys Don't Dance?" She's the topless girl who opens the door at the party in the first scene.

I don't recall the date, it was either the fall 1972 (before December) or early in 1973, but I think it was the fall of 1972 because there was no snow and it wasn't really cold, it was just rainy. Palace Theatre, Albany, NY. It was shortly after Berry had died, Lamar was on bass and Dickey introduced a new song he had just written "Ramblin' Man". He blew the roof off the place that night. In the beginning of the show, someone had called in a bomb scare, so Gregg told everyone and they left the stage, but nobody wanted to leave and go outside in the rain, then someone came back and told us, we all had to go outside while they searched and then we could come back in. They played a long show that night.
