Can anyone recommend any albums of this guy to me? I've seen videos of him, but never heard any of the albums.

There is a 2 cd Live (Can't remember the name of it). Walter just
tears it up on guitar. Most of his albums are Really Good!
But the Live ones just Kick A**!

At a good friend's urging a few years back we caught Walter at a local beach venue usually filled by a dance crowd....Can't recommend a CD, but I'll vouch for his live show!

I recommend one of his early ones with Rick Elliott on drums & Paul Kallestad on Hammond.

I reviewed "Common Ground" and "Unspoiled by Progress" for Hittin' The Note and enjoyed both immensely. I have most of his and I'd recommend any of the live ones and "Unspoiled by Progress" which is an overview of the last 20 years; mostly previously unreleased live performances which are simply amazing. I got to meet him back in April. He's very nice and was happy to talk about guitars (no surprise!).

The double disc live CD is called "Live Trout." "No More Fish Jokes" is a blistering guitar frenzy bonanza too.

I'll add to the positive votes for "Common Ground". I'm re-listening to it now, prompted by this thread, and it really is a very good cd...

Agreed ! I just got the CD a couple of weeks ago and I have been playing it regularly. They played an old video of a Blues Festival he headlined in CT a few years back on the local State Interconnect on cable. I've never seen him live but I hope to get the opportunity some time.

Full Circle is one of my favorites
Live Trout is also a great album
Relentless isn't bad either, but not as good as the live stuff imo.

Love this guy's guitar work. I've wanted to see him live for a while, but I normally only see him playing around the Florida area.

Relentless is actually all new songs (at the time) recorded live in Amsterdam. There's a companion DVD that is fantastic to watch and Walter introduces the new songs and gives a little background about them.
