When did Pete rFrampton leave Humble Pie? I saw the band in April 1972, but don't remember if he was still around then. Edgar Winter's White Trash opened.

Humble Pie was the first band I went to see live. I'm not sure of the date but it was Gentle Giant, Edgar Winter Group (not long after They Only Come Out At Night was released) and Humble Pie at the Baltimore Civic Center.

It is a shame that there isn't much video footage available.

All this talk about Humble Pie got me to pull the Humble Pie that I have on CD (turntable is temporarily down or I'd be crankin Live At The Fillmore). I own Rock On and a nice Comp CD called Humble Pie 25th Anniversity Edition. put out by A&M a few years ago.

Check out this songlist:

C'Mon Everybody
Stone Cold Fever
Black Coffee
Hot 'N' Nasty
Shine On
30 Days In The Hole
Get Down To It
I Don't Need No Doctor
Honky Tonk Woman
Take Me Back
I Can't Stand The Rain
LIve With Me

I'm cranking it right now. Great stuff .

RIP Steve Marriott

not quite a "new" release - this looks as it's another reissue of the pie on the king biscuit flower hour. if you don't have it though it's well worth picking up.

While I do like Steve Marriott's voice (he was the first choice for the vocalist in Zep), Humble Pie live was just too loose for me. It seems like what passes for songs are merely some riffs that are bridges between Steve's gutteral cries and moans. But hey different strokes ... I do remember how popular they were in the day.
