It is with a great deal of sadness that I must report I will not be in attendance at this years Jam For Duane. A few months back I made plans to go to the mountains with my wife and a couple other couples on motorcycles. I scheduled it for the weekend of the 15th-16th thinking JFD would be near the end of the month. As fate would have it... This will be the first year I have missed JFD since 2005.

I hope this year's JFD will be a smashing success and all the participants have a great time. I'll miss you guys.

Blackstone is the place where the Derek Trucks Band came and hung out with us for a couple hours after their JFD show in 2004.

There's some cool stuff in the works this year....stay tuned!

I was there for the 2007 JFD. Great music for sure. I didn't know anybody, but Susea, and never met her in person. When we went in, I recognized Bluedad from photos and introduced myself to him. That is all it took. He introduced us to everybody. We met so many wonderful peachheads that weekend. BDOB, Drew, Sang (who had driven Lefty's band from a show in Chicago, overnight in his van!) Hai-Texas Jon, Slammer, Randy, Brent(of course), Ayla, Susea, TerriB, Sari, Helen, Nancy, Kim Payne and many more I'm sure. What a great time with great people and music.

Is there an image of the "Duane/Berry" reissue t-shirt that we can see someplace?
Thanks and some day I'll make to Alabama from Virginia to attend the JFD.

Joining the Yonrico Scott Band at this year's JFD will be special guest Mr. Harry Case.
Some of y'all might be familiar with Mr. Case from his work with the Count M'butu Band.
Harry sat in with the Derek Trucks Band both times they played the JFD. Went toe-to-toe with Derek on guitar. Quite a player. There will be another guest or two.

Unfortunately, something has come up and we won't be able to make it.
But I will still buy tickets to help the cause.

Our daughter is having knee surgery on Oct. 5th and will be in a full leg cast and on crutches
for 4 to 6 weeks. When the right knee heals, she will need the same surgery on the left knee.
Her kneecaps need to be properly aligned to prevent falls and more damage.

Maybe next year. I know y'all will have a great time.

The good folks at the Downtown Tavern, across the street from Blackstone, have been kind enough to book Bonobos Convergence for Oct. 16, so Vaylor and his guys will be in the mix. Last year Vaylor came to Blackstone after his JFD gig and sat in with the Skydogs for a full set.

Time to break out the glitter and cheeze whiz
