thankfully we have great souls like Mflax, Suesa and Lazy Lightning and others that capture these special moments

God Damn i love Soul Serenade

I wish Soul Serenade would have made the cut to be on Roadsongs. SS with a horn Section!!! Man, i bet it sounded sweet. I know they played it that weekend too. Oh well.

A horn section on Soul Serenade would be sweet! Eric that Torrington show was your top show if I'm not mistaken?

I had an extra ticket for that Torrington show....sold it out front right berfore the show started.
Guy had never heard of Derek or the dTb, but bought the ticket based on the raves he got from me and my wife.
Half way through about the 2nd song, he jumped up and left, never returned.
Strangest thing ever.....

BTW - that show is one of the best.

BTW #2 - I grew up in Torrington, but moved away in 1976....the Warner was the place I saw my first "real" concert - Caneed Heat in 1971 or so....
Mostly, the warner was the local movie theater....ah, memories....

BTW#3 - I really miss the dTb too...

i like what Derek is doing now...the songs & songwriting are creative, fun & have plenty of room for Derek to spread out a bit...& some of the jazz work can be integrated, but it's a nice full sound with a heck of a bass player

Just listened to a Derek/Susan band show from about a month ago in Japan...

Too much Susan for my taste.

Bring back the dtb!

i really dig DTB but i have to say i think the new band is waaaay better plus the new band has got kofi and maddison in it so this group will retain some of the vibe from DTB. thier is alot more soulful groove goin on now

the cool thing about DTB was the way they pulled in from sooooooo many different influences. rock, blues, soul, r+b, southern, jazz, Indian, Asian, Latin
you had no idea what was coming.

great, great band
