Ritchie Blackmore is a biggie - I loved Rainbow's instrumental songs.

Robert Fripp, Steve Hackett, Pete Townshend, Jimmy Page.

I saw him for the first time Friday night. Totally unimpressed.

He made mistakes and instead of playing through it he stopped and gathered himself. Gatemouth Brown once said " If you make a mistake play it twice, then they'll think you meant to do it." LOL

One song just ended as if he had nothing else to play.

Just a lot of playing fast and no feeling.

Seriously....John Mayer.

The kid is pretty versatile and can really play.....Not having to hear his voice or the lyrics he's come up with would be sweet.

I hear that. I like Mike and Susan just fine, but for my money, the DTB has ALWAYS been about Sahib Teri Bandi, Pedro in D Major, Greensleeves, My Favorite Things, Rastaman (sans Chant), etc.

So, sorry to say, my interest in their recent projects is nowhere near what it once was. I mean, I still appreciate it for what it is, it's damned good blues and bluesy fusion, but it's not what got me on the bandwagon in the first place.

would love to see dickey do some new material in the future the guy still has it,his recent concerts were not the best representation of him at all .Dickey is probably one of the best at writing instrumentals.

Fripp has put out many Instrumental albums. He calls them sound scapes .
It is based on the frippertronic tape systems he and Brian Eno Developed.
Only now he uses digital delays and loops.

in a more rock mode there is his first Solo album. "Exposure"
