My Delaney & Bonnie & Friends with Eric Clapton 4 CD box set from Rhino Records arrived yesterday. I am really enjoying it. It captures four different live shows recorded in England in 1969. The recording quality is good. The packaging is very cool - lots of interesting info. The set list is very similar from one night to the other, without a tremendous amount of variation in performance. But, it was a truly great band. If you're fan of Clapton's playing from that tour (which I am) you can hear his approach to improvising within the same song on different shows. I'm not easily pleased with CD purchases on the first listen (sometimes not on subsequent listens), but I'm glad I bought this and would recommend it.

Yes, it comes with a spiral notebook with an extensive essay on Delaney & Bonnie and complete liner notes - the notebook also has a few loose snapshots stuck loosely inside - one really nice one I've never seen before of EC & Delaney sitting in the back of the tour bus playing guitars that I'd love to see blown up...
Overall it's a great set put together with tender-lovin' care by Rhino Handmade...

Duane didn't tour England with them. These are all shows from a tour of the UK they did with Clapton.
