From the recent Gov't Mule email/newsletter:

".....A highlight of this 2 week tour will no doubt be the October 30th show at the spectacular Fox Theatre in Oakland, when the band brings the latest installment in its Halloween tradition to the Bay Area.

Those that have been paying attention, know this show is like none other in the year. You've seen the Mule invite you into its 'Holy Haunted House', visit the Dark Side of The Moon and beyond, and Play With Fire... and you're surely asking What's Next? Join us in Oakland and find out."

That "What's Next?" remark is clearally some clue regarding the theme of that show.
So what do you think? "What's Next? = Who's Next? and therefor a Who themed show?

Gov't Who?

Either Halloween or Dec 31 & they have done it before: this year it's 40 years ago Hendrix passed away.

Yep, a Hendrix themed Muleoween is rumoured. But a "The Who" set would be cool too.

A Who set would be great. I saw them do Eminence Front a few years back at the Beacon. I can only imagine them doing a whole set of the Who. I would love to hear them do stuff like 5:15, Getting In Tune, or something like The Relay.

Whether it's a Who-themed event or not, it sure does seem like they're trying to drop that as a hint w/ the "What's Next" line. Have they been known to be coy about this in the past?

The What's Next reference immediately made me think of The Who. The above poster seals it.

I asked Matt Abts this question at Mountain Jam. His reply, "We're thinking of doing the entire Van Halen album "Fair Warning" from start to finish as a second set. Can you imagine Warren trying to jump around like both Roth and Eddie Van Halen?" He was laughing as he said this so I'm sure he was **** ting me and he other two guys standing there with me.

My guess is that they jump around the Who catalog and not just play a particular album.
