Meet Louie. The pitbull beaten with a shovel, doused with lighter fluid, and set on fire by JUAN DANIELS. Why? Because his family wouldn't let him borrow the car.

"The dog was tied to a tree at the time of the attack and viciously ripped its own flesh off trying to escape the flames.

When news broke of the act, Juan Daniels fled the capital city. The vicious nature of the crime lead to an all out manhunt for Daniels who was tracked down by U.S. Marshals a short time later in the Tuscaloosa area."

On August 24th there will be a parole hearing for Juan Daniels. Please write letters to the Alabama Board of Pardons/Paroles to deny parole for him. The letter can be brief. It took me 5 minutes to write. I mailed it 2 days ago. We need these letters out ASAP.

This man should not be released. Every person who does not write a letter to send in is choosing to act on behalf of this sick, twisted animal abuser, JUAN DANIELS. So please take a few moments to write and mail to:

The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles
PO Box 302405, Montgomery, Alabama 36130
The letter should reference: "Juan Daniels, AIS#263875"

**The Board reads ALL letters sent to them concerning these cases.**

This makes me sick to think a human could do this to a dog. WTF is wrong with society today? I wouldn't hesitate to put a bullet right between the sumb*tch that did this.

As a dog lover I found those pictures very distressing indeed. They should do to him what this low life scum did to the family pet and see how he likes it. An eye for an eye I say.

Before this guilt trip is laid on the reader, it would be good if we knew the following:

1. How much time has Juan served and what was the original sentence?

1. How old was Juan at the time of the crime?

3. What has Juan's record in prison been like?

4. Was Juan previously abused, possibly by his same family that owned the dog?

I expect the parole board will know all these things and will act based on all the facts, not just on the particulars of the crime.

Now back to the competition on who can say the most outrageous thing about what ought to happen to him.

Before this guilt trip is laid on the reader, it would be good if we knew the following:

1. How much time has Juan served and what was the original sentence?

I expect the parole board will know all these things and will act based on all the facts, not just on the particulars of the crime.

which in some cases is wrong,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Now back to the competition on who can say the most outrageous thing about what ought to happen to him.

Brock it does outrage a person to see an animal abused like this and maybe he is a "product" of his environment, but that still doesn't hold up to me. An eye for an eye.

Thanks for the additional info Renee. I agree 19 months is not near long enough, and a 9-yr sentence sounds about right. My point was the original article was extremely one-sided, and lacking alot of particulars necessary to a rational assessment.

Not going to look at the pics, just reading this thread this morning made me want to puke.
Anything anyone wanted to do to the perp would be fine & 19 months is just not enough of a sentence for a sicko crime like this, no matter what the background of the convicted animal abuser. Burn for burn, hit for hit works for me- he should be taught the meaning of pain.

Edit: letter sent, hope my objection helps keep the perp in jail.

Don't know if I can look at these pics ... just the idea of this kind of cruelty to a living creature turns my stomach (and yes... thinking of my Punkin and Lola and if something like this were done to them). Animal abusers often graduate on to other crimes and displays of cruelty. Hope Juan gets his jail visit extended and has plenty of time there for contemplating his actions. And hopefully this sick twist can be brought to actually understand how wrong and cruel these actions are.

I'm with Big Dave on Bass. Violence begats violence, however animal abuse is more than I can take. I can't bring myself to look at the pictures. Juan better not show up around here.

Not taking sides on letter writing.

Cruelty to animals is often step one on the journey to cruelty to humans. Who knows what will be next?

Just to shift the paradigm here a bit, if you follow through the logic of justifying violence with more violence, you can arrive (through logic) that the tragedies that have befallen our country were justifiable because the acts of violence that were committed had to be avenged upon us. Now don't mistake this for me saying that what happened to us is justifiable. Instead, look at the equal reverse, or ying to the yang, of that statement and have faith that an individual's acts, whether they are good or bad, will come back to them and close the circle of kharma. By placing ourselves in the judge and jury's seat, we are interfering with the natural process and possibly creating more bad kharma.

Peace~! Brian
