saw them recently--very crazy crowd of people...pretty out of control bunches throughout the audience & the music was good but not great...

i saw Jerry many times & perhaps it's made me unable to enjoy a cover version of Jerry--the lead player(forgot his name) captures some of Jerry's sprit & a few licks, but he's no Jerry--i prefer Phil's band with Larry Campbell & John Scofield on leads--to me,they are more skilled players & second, they never try to "do" Jerry--they bring their own sound, blended with Jerry's intent,to the music.

I agree. The idea having a "Jerry clone" is too much for me to be able to listen to the music. It seems to be for the people who missed out on seeing Jerry. You can't re-create what Jerry did. It's gone. Over.
My favorite lineup was the one with Jimmy Herring and Joan Osborne in 2004. Joan can sing. Jimmy did his own take on the music and he is great. I really enjoyed the show they played in Tampa that summer at the hockey rink.

Jerry is gone and yes that is over. BUT this band is very good and really hitting stride. I am happy the music has not stopped. Take a listen for yourself from GOTV 2 nights ago.

This was the show I was at. Best lineup post Jerry. Bob Dylan sits in on a couple playing keyboard. I was 20 rows back center in front of the mixing board.
