Queen is a Rock n Roll hall of fame band who apparently gets abused by classic rock radio. While they are always considered one of the great 70s bands these godforsaken radio stations seem to play the same old songs over and over and over and over again.....BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY, KILLER QUEEN, WE WILL ROCK YOU, WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS...
Now I can't stand those songs and have to turn them off.

But for some reason I feel that they have so much more than those few songs. I get the hunch that the radio stations are just scratching the surface (to the extreme!) They have released several albums and so many album cuts during the 70s and 80s. Anybody who knows about Queen who has a good idea of what's good beyond the tiresome rock radio hits?

I agree some of their lesser known album songs are class and their radio freindly fodder is just dross.

I can take or leave their "radio hits"...(Just like most bands)....

A damn fine rock band I never had the pleasure of seeing perform.

I was lucky enough to see them at the Spectrum in November of 1977 before I joined the Army.

I am with you 100% on Queen II, hankpipes, not so much the first one. Queen II is one motherf*cker of a record!!! Their third, Sheer Heart Attack, is also a great, great record. They never rocked quite so hard after that.........their next was their huge hit, Night At The Opera (which includes Bohemian Rhapsody among others) and to me that's where they got just a bit too artsy and pretentious for my taste.

Love Queen (and yeah ... some of their stuff did get played to death on the radio but I see a lot of good stuff that maybe didn't appear so much listed here (Dave ... Stone Cold Crazy! and Hank ... March of the Black Queen ). Agree with Tim on Under Pressure, too ... that was always a fave of mine. Also like Radio GaGa, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Hammer to Fall, I Want It All. Would have loved to see these guys live while Freddie Mercury was with us ... what a voice, what a talent. I got chills watching their set during Live Aid - they stole the show from some pretty serious competion (and seeing all of those people in Wembley singing and clapping in unison was pretty amazing ... can't recall ever seeing such a large group so engaged in a performance as they were with this one). RIP Freddie Mercury ... gone too soon.

I hardly ever listen to "classic rock" stations in the car. But when a Queen song comes on,
I turn it up and feel fortunate to hear it.

I remember my good friend's brother got Queen II when it came out. We listened to it quite a bit, but let's say that Queen never got close to surplanting Skynyrd or MTB. Hey while all y'all Queen fans are here what is the song from Queen II that has the line "Blue Powder Monkeys playing in the dead of night"? This is the extent of my memory of Queen II.

Is it true Freddie Mercury used to take part in wild man orgies and was a bottom who had hot, sweaty, wanton, unprotected sex with hundreds of men over the course of his lifetime? He talked about women in a lot of his songs, but then again GAY men call each other "girls", don't they? And queen is a slang word for crossdresser, I believe.

I think Freddie was bisexual. Whatever he was somehow he contracted aids. He was what he was but he still had a lot of talent.

What I want to know is didn't Freddie Mercury get a NOSE JOB somewhere along the way. Old videos show him with a prominent and poiny snoz. Later videos show him with a more normal looking nose.

Personally I don't like them, GAY singer or no GAY singer.

Hope this helps.
