I thought it was wonderful. It gave some context to the post -1980 stuff that made me appreciate it a bit more, but I was mostly knocked out by 1973-1980 as ever.

A very well-done documentary - good interviews, terrific footage, and the DVD will be twice as long, apparently.

I saw the premier in Toronto and if you are a fan, pick this up. A great insight into a band that is flown under the mainstream radar for 3 decades.

I really enjoyed this.

I only found one negative the entire documentary and that was Jack Black. Why was he there? Also, if he had to be there, why couldn't he just comment and answer a question without being making his weird faces and sounds that added nothing to the doc.

I was glad to see Alex wasn't a fan of their mid-late 80's sound.

I'm not a fan of anything after Moving Pictures until Counterparts. They started getting back to the sound I like on that album.

With the lone exception of the song "Tai Shan," I love it all.

I thought the documentary was excellent!!! Very insightful! I have seen Rush a number of times through the years and they were my first ever rock concert so they always hold a special place in my heart. I haven't seen them live in about five years or so but after watching that I have the itch to catch them at Jones Beach. They are playing the entire 'Moving Pictures' album which is the tour I saw that first concert on. Not a very big fan of most of their stuff after 'Signals' but I liked a song here and there.

One of the best versions of Closer to the Heart that I've ever heard. Wonder why...

I will be going to BestBuy tomorrow to pick it up. They're also including a free RUSH T-shirt
with it. The DVD will contain almost an hour of bonus footage.

Will be catching the boys in Saratoga Springs, NY on Jul 23. Been catching every tour since
Signals in 1982.

Woodsy, the Counterparts Message Board is doing a real time setlist thread tomorrow night...FYI.

First time in a long time that at least a large chunk of the setlist didn't get leaked.

Hey Jerry,

Over at the website,
http://rushisaband.com
they've got a leaked set list from today's Albuquerque, NM rehearsals, courtesy of fans
who were within earshot. I haven't looked at it. It was tempting, but I'm gonna try to
wait for the NY show so I can have some surprises, since I did read that they were
going to do some tunes they haven't done in a long time and some they've NEVER
done live. Very excited. Hope you have a great time on Thursday.

I saw it on saturday night, & really enjoyed it. It was very well done & it really tells you how they operate as a band. They all seem like good people & really appreciate their fans as well. As Toby Keith once said about Ted Nugent, The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame loses credability every time Rush puts on one of their kickass shows!!

R'n'R HOF: baaaaaaaaaaaah. Anyone who watches that documentary knows that Rush is more rebellious than most rawk'n'rollers in their own excellent way because they shrug off many r'n'r cliches. They do not conform - they obviously don't hire a stylist to dress them like the Strokes did, they don't pimp out to sex'n'drugs cliches like every other Rolling Stones wannabe, they read books and are damned proud of it, they are humble and respect their fans and would never pull some Guns'n'Roses prima donna **** , they work their asses off and play remarkable music, and their popularity really shows it. They have had a level of consistent success like very few other bands, really.

I looked.

Hmmmm.

From one longtime Rush fan to the other, you might want to. One big rumored surprise isn't there. There are some songs they've never done live, but...

Hmmmm.

I really loved this documentary
Like Pete, I kinda lost interest after Signals. Just not into the synths and such.
Or maybe it happened after my friend loaned me his copy of Metallica's Ride The Lightning

Anyway.. they are playing here in Nj in Sept. I have never seen them, but am strongly considering it
