Hey Brothers and Sisters. I don't know Red Dog personally, but from everything I've seen written and discussed here, he's a solid dude whose dedication to this band and it's extended family cannot be questioned. I also know that a number of my friends call him friend, and all together, that's good enough for me.

I cannot come to Macon for the show, and I don't have a pile of cash laying around. What I do have is a seed, so let's plant it and see if it grows.

Up for auction is a Danelectro Danoblaster Innuendo guitar.

Now, this isn't a top-shelf axe, but if you know a young person who wants to get started without spending a lot of money, or if you are or know a player who wants a knock-around instrument to play for fun (keep in the trunk, take on road trips, etc.), then this might be the ticket.

This guitar does have a built-in "fun" factor, as it comes equipped with four on-board effects - distortion, chorus, tremolo and echo. This image shows the effect/knob configuration:

Mine is glossy black. A piece of the finish chipped off several years ago, and I marginally repaired it with a bit of wood putty and some glossy black paint. Effects are powered by a 9-volt battery. Also, there are two outputs, the "effects" and "bypass" (clean).

I'll clean it up and throw on a new set of strings, and ground shipping will be on me.

This might be a modest way to start a fund-raising effort, but hopefully we can raise a few bucks. Let's start the bidding at $20.00

P.S. - I don't yet know if a "representative" has emerged to accept donations (such as at the auctions close), but please trust that any proceeds raised from this auction will end up in Red Dog's hands. I will neither collect nor release any funds until I'm assured of that.

Great idea, Randy. I was actually thinking about something similar myself the other day.

Would you mind if I posted a similar auction item on this thread? I don't want to hijack your thread in any way, but it might be more efficient/effective to concentrate all of this kind of activity in one thread.

Just let me know, and good looking out, brother!

In the past, we've had separate threads for different auctions. However, they can get confusing, lost, etc. If you'd like to try running multiple auctions in the same thread, I'm game.

Post what you've got. When I see your post, I will edit the original post so subsequent visitors will know right off the bat that there's more than one auction going on. We'll use the initial post as sort of a "guide" to what follows.

I'll be Auction 1 - Danelectro Guitar, you'll be Auction 2 - description, etc.

I'll do my best to manage the thread properly.

Any ideas as to who should act as Red Dog's agent in this, i.e., who should receive the funds? I think I saw one or two questions arise on sending contributions (for those who couldn't make the show), but I didn't see if those questions were ever answered.

Something like that.

$65 and whoever wins let's get the guitar down to the benefit and donate it to a kid who might be interested in learning to play
