Ray has his 4th album (first without Ethan Johns) coming out in August. He revises his sound somewhat from old soul to rustic country/americana. Voice still very recognizable. Digging it:

Hoping to see him in August in Atlanta for the first time.

Always liked Ray been a fan for many years, i've seen him probably a dozen times from tiny venues when he was just starting to large opera houses where he is playing now... I think his voice beautiful maybe my favorite voice in all of music today.
BUT
I feel after Trouble (which is one of my favorite albums of the last 20 years) every album has got progressively worse. He really set the bar high with Trouble and everything after has been rather meh in my opinion. Hopefully this album changes that, unfortunately that song wasn't a good sign... loved the pedal steel in it tho.

Gotta agree with jbpats0823. Love Ray's first album. Great songs, great voice. Since, I haven't found too much that's peaked my interest. That happens a lot though. Sometimes a songwriter's only got one good collection in him. In Ray's case, that is one helll of an album. Hope I'm into his future stuff. His voice is really good.

It sounds like a Joni Mitchell song, and Ray sounds like a male version of her on that one.
