Nice! Thanks for the link.

So wish we could catch one of the summer shows with Drive by Truckers opening.

from the 3 tracks i've heard this tom petty album seems to be a winner. probably one of the top 3 releases of 2010 if the rest is as good as the 3 tracks they've let out

Gotta love how a few years ago Petty was getting slammed here for disgracing the Allmans for having them open for him. Now he does a few blues songs and everyone loves him!!

Always loved Petty...before these blues songs.

I was at the Hartford show. The Brothers blew Tom Petty off the stage !! I highly recommend the Instant Live of that show. It is a great recording.

I was there too. DTB, ABB, TP & HB - no weak spots there. I suspect the majority of the crowd would say Tom Petty was the highlight, at least from the lawn section where I sat.

Another new video which I like very much. I think TP is hoarding guitars!

I just won free tickets on the radio on sunday to see Petty & ZZ Top here in Dallas on Sept. 21!! I'm looking forward to that show. Just hope the station calls back & lets me know when tickets are there to pick up, because they haven't been sent to the station yet.

Been listening to "Mojo" for a couple of days...

I like it quite a bit, with the caveat being that I have never been a big Petty fan. I saw him once in the 80's and was unimpressed enough to never see him again.

That being said, I feel the new cd is great if approached from a jam band perspective. Anyone expecting "Damn the Torpedoes..." will, I think, be disappointed. Besides which, he's already made that album.

The reviews I've been reading are decidedly mixed. I was wondering what y'all thought of the new disc, if you've heard it.

Please feel free to weigh in with your take on "Mojo".

I need to listen to the rest. I've heard some. It will be hard to top his last, "Mudcrutch." It's a modern day classic.

I suspect if you saw a modern day Petty concert, you'd be very impressed.

I liked the Mudcrutch album, this follows in a similar vein except I feel the musicianship (insofar as I am able to judge) is superior on Mojo.

I would be tempted to attend the upcoming Petty concert in Charlotte except for two things: Ticket prices are a wee tad bit expensive; And I dislike singalongs...

Suko it wasn't so much the Allman's opening for TP & the HBs, but them cancelling a Charlotte date to do so. Prior they had played Charlotte every year since the reunion in 89 and it was a great disappointment to those of us who had grown accustomed to our annual ABB fix. Things really ain't been the same since. It ruined a great tradition.

Since this album has a bluesy sound, it's appropriate to have ZZ Top open the shows in Texas. Maybe they'll jam together during the show.

From the part I heard, it has a great set of varied songs, all with great guitar tone.
