All of us at HTN and the dTb are excited to announce that the Derek Trucks Band will be releasing a double live CD on June 22, 2010, called Roadsongs! As a thank you to all of the fans that participate in this pre-order and help generate some excitement and buzz for this new release - the dTb and HTN will send you a live download of "I'll Find My Way" for a little "instant gratification" while you wait for the CDs. All pre-orders will also receive a DTB air freshener, perfect for those long trips on the road! As a special added bonus there will be a few slides, actually used by Derek in concert, that will be sent to several lucky customers that participate in this pre-order! So please, pre-order now and help spread the word about this incredible new double live CD!

The Derek Trucks Band is also releasing a new guitar tablature songbook for Already Free, their grammy award winning CD released last year! For those of you that order both during this pre-sale period you get the following:

* Roadsongs double live CD!
* Free dTb air freshner!
* Free MP3 of "I'll Find My Way"!
* Already Free Songbook autographed by Derek!
* Free upcoming issue of Hittin' the Note #65 with Derek and Susan on the cover!
* Several chances to win a slide used by Derek!
* Save almost 25% off the retai price of the live CD, the songbook and HTN65!

Please also note that we heard your comments from the last pre-sale and there will be no additional "specials" (like bonus tracks) offered by any of the big box retailers for this CD release. Everyone that orders during this pre-order period will receive the best that we have to offer!

Uh ... what's the exact scent of this DTB air freshener? We talkin' DTB before or after the gig? Like having the entire DTB riding around in your backseat!

TOO FUNNY - I thought the same thing myself!

Here's some more info:

Like many musicians, Derek Trucks doesn't spend much time listening to his own music, and when he does, he tends to focus on what didn't go right, rather than what did. "In 16 years of touring with the DTB, I rarely check out our own live recordings, mainly because I'm hypercritical of our performances Ė especially mine," says the humble guitar wizard.

Of course, there are exceptions to the rule. Last year, the Derek Trucks Band hit Chicago for a two-night stand at the Park West, and everyone in the band immediately recognized that something special had just happened. Roadsongs is the result, the first live album (to be released June 22nd) from the Derek Trucks Band since 2004's Live at the Georgia Theatre.

"I remember that second night in Chicago. It was kind of rare thing, we all came off the stage and, independently of one another, said ĎThat was great Ė we really got there!' ĎIf we ever do a live album, that was it right there.'" I could tell everybody was playing better than they normally do," Derek explains. "I remember listening to tunes like ĎSailin' On' and ĎRastaman Chant' and thinking how the addition of the horns were a nice twist, that made these songs sound fresh again."

Indeed, the DTB were hittin' a very high note at these shows, and now you can enjoy all the musical magic on their new double live CD Roadsongs! The band has never sounded better, covering a wide range of material from the intense jazz of "Afro Blue" to the dreamy "Already Free" to the burning blues of "Key To the Highway." The horns add a lot to the sound - this album almost sounds like the Derek Trucks Orchestra!

Even so, the core band of Yonrico Scott, Todd Smallie, Mike Mattison, Kofi Burbridge, Count M'Butu, and of course Derek Trucks are the real stars here. Currently enjoying a well-deserved hiatus after 16 grueling years as road warriors of the highest caliber, Roadsongs shows how tight and cohesive the group was before taking a break.

I know this Cd is DTB, but we have been listening to the Derek and Susan's Wanee set and that is one awesome show. The more we listen the more great stuff we hear. I love the new stuff they are playing. Incredibly refreshing!!!!!

I did a test order and did receive my confimation e-mail - but I suspect what is going on is that an internet spam filter(like Baracuda) may be hurting the delivery of our e-mails by treating them as spam. I'll have our tech guy check with them and see...

Hey Joe,

$36.99, that's a great deal! I'm as excited about the Tab book as I am about the live album. We will finally have some tabbed out Derek riffs for those of us that aren't able to pick up things by ear so easily (and I have been playing for almost 20 years, just don't have the gift to pick up riffs that easy, particularly from Derek w/ him playing in open E). I will be ordering shortly.

Joe, I know the 3 volumes of ABB tab books are available, they contain music up to the Where It All Begins Album, it would be great to have a guitar Tab book available that contained selections from (or even better, all of) Where It All Begins and Hittin The Note...I guarantee there is a market for that. Is it possible to look into making something like that happen or is that something the band or publishing company makes happen?

Thanks,

Ryan

yeah, i know - just thought it was worth correcting, since there is the song These Days which is sometimes covered by Gregg and/or ABB.

It's such a great song, too! (Days is....)
