I saw them last night. They came on at 10:30 and were still playing when me and my wife starting walking back to the RV at 12:45.A unreal show band that has 2 huge screeens behind them much like the ABB band does there one. Long drum solo's and very long lead guitar solo's. Best new band I have seen in 20 years. Fantastic show. Please do not miss them.

Well back to work. I have seen about 40 bands in 2 weeks. Will turn 54 in one week. I cannot think of life being any better at my age. Music keeps the soul alive. I am certainly alive and kicking. Time to make a living now

ZBB is on my must see live list. I have heard from others that they put on one heck of a show. I loved the CMT Crossroads with Jimmy Buffett, their duet of "Free/Into the Mystic" is freaking fantastic.
Thanks for the review.

Mark incredible band. I saw a lot in the last 2 weeks. The Saturday ABB show by far was the best. This was #2. This is not a so called country band. This is a great American Band! I have been to the Suwannee River Jam for 7 straight years now. Brad Paisley was my favorite so far. These guys blew him away. Yes Into the Mystic was outstanding. When they brought out the Djamai (sp) drums I flew off the chain. It sounded like the drum circle in the back of SOSMP. Most sets are 1 1/2 hours. Not these guys. They were just getting started.

They're playing in Simsonville Sc on Fri 06-04 at an outdoor amphitheater, that's only an hours drive for us! We're Broke, but we're gonna have to find a way to do this one!

They're definitely a great band. Hopefully they'll come back to Dallas soon. They played at the House OF Blues last year, but I missed the show. I need to become a member of the fan club, that way I could possibly participate in their Eat & Greet before the show.

I'm a sucker for some good melody/acoustic/sing along tunes...so when I 'discovered' Zac Brown Band last summer I was hooked. I love 'Free'. And I'm a divorced 'kid' and that 'highway 20 ride' song kills me everyone.

Great stuff. 'Would REALLY love to catch them live - have heard they're shows are HUGE.

Unfortunately, I won't be going to Merlefest this week as I am focusing this year on the Appalachian Uprising in a few weeks. But, I am already in Merlefest withdrawal after seven years in a row, but I'll be back. God bless Doc Watson!!

Thanks for the info about these guys. Have wanted to check 'em out but thought they fell into the easy listening "Buffett" category (please no flames - used to be a huge JB fan but I really prefer his pre - Margaritaville stuff) .....obviously I was wrong.

He's got a 2CD/1DVD live set from the Fox Theater in ATL coming out on May 4th:

Thought you guys might like to know.

i have seen the zac brown band twice this year. rib fest in st pete, chili fest in fort lauderdale. both were great shows. those guys love to play and it shows. they do some nice covers like the beatles blackbird, the night they drove old dixie down, one love, into the mystic and i few i missed i'm sure.the crowd loved them. as for jimmy buffet love the old stuff, but his latestcd is pretty good.love the line in the first song on the disc 'i'm nobody from nowhere'. still hoping i get to catch the brothers live this summer. but it don't look good. it won't be summer with out the a great outdoor abb concert

I'm a new ZBB supporter, as well. Hard working, focused group & leader. They deserve everything that is coming their way. Could become uber-popular with a toe in the Buffett/Chesney crowd, a jam following and a Southern foodie following. Zac sat in with Jimmy for for tunes in ATL, including the lost verse of M'ville.

By the way, not only is Zak Brown headlining this Thursday night at Merlefest, but he will also be hosting the all-star 'anything goes' Midnight Jam at Merlefest late Saturday night. That means Zak will be at Merlefest all weekend and doesn't have another gig until May 8th, which most likely means that he will be jamming and sitting in with a few other folks as well, as is the nature and spirit of Merlefest.

My parents are big Buffett fans, and of course went to see him in Atlanta. When I talked to my Mom today she asking me who this Zac Brown guy was She and my Dad were very impressed by him, hadn't ever heard of him before but were blown away by his talent.

As I said to my Mom, and as foppa suggests below, he is just country enough for country music fans, just rock enough for rock fans, just jammin' enough for jam fans. He really does have a bright future ahead of him if he can unite all those fanbases.

Eventually, we'll have the NASCAR announcer warning fans to stay away from the brown acid!
