Butch posted this on the Moogis forum.

Ok. Here it is. Moogis is going to webcast Wanee. We will probably also do the Macon show complete with a tour of all of the places that meant something to the ABB. We have tried to structure it so that current subscribers would not have to pay additional fees, but it just won't work without us losing money. We pretty much broke even from the UP run and we're trying to charge for Wanne so that we can do about the same. Unfortunately, with the lack of internet connectivity there we had to choose between filming the shows and showing them a day or so later or bringing in a satellite uplink. We feel that what makes Moogis special is the immediacy that knowing you're watching it live adds so it's going to cost us a bit more than we had hoped. I promise we will keep any additional fees to a minimum. Well that's the big surprise. Hope you like it. Start spreading the word. We have two weeks to let everyone know. Up to now Moogis has been all ABB. Now we can start doing what Moogis was designed to do and web cast other bands. After Wanee, we'll go to work adding 100's more. Hot damn guys. We're rolling.

Depending on the money and the amount of bands covered, I'll buy in.

The ability to see a variety of great bands perform live, and then again watch archived, is worth a little folding money.

If it's any more than like 25 bucks for current subscribers, I'll pass! I think I have sunk enough into this already. $150 for 8 shows wasn't nearly as much a bargain as last year. They had more subscribers paying more money this year and only had to stream 8 shows as opposed to 15 the year before. No way you're telling me they didn't make a profit. If it's not too expensive I'm in but anything more than an additional $20 to $30 would be out of line IMO.

People who did not get the last five ABB shows that they signed up for should get the Wanee broadcast as compensation. People signed up again for those five shows that were never delivered. For good reason perhaps, still, people did not get what they were originally promised when they signed up. Delivering Wanee would show good faith and an honest business approach to those customers who have supported the project, many from the inception.

When I signed up for Moogis the five shows had not yet been announced. For me, there is no doubt Moogis delivered what was promised.

I was really pleased when the five shows were added and really disappointed when they were canceled but they were not part of the original contract. Although I think it was unprofessional for the Allman Brothers to cancel, I can't blame Moogis for not giving me a bonus that was not specified in the original deal.

I was only able to watch 3 shows live. Of course that was because I attended 4 of them but still that's a lot of money per show.

Well, I do have Moogis. When I bought Moogis the last five shows were not yet canceled. So I paid for five shows and did not get them. I would like to see Wanee, but I want to be compensated for the five shows I did not get and was supposed to get for my 150 dollars.

Then you have a very different issue than I have. I would take it up with the Moogis powers that be. Did Moogis subscribers agree to something that stated Moogis is not responsible for canceled shows? You should check in to it and go through the channels for any due compensation.

It sounds like you had an expectation of a cost around $11.53 a show. You ended up paying $18.75. That seems pretty clear cut to me if you signed up after the other shows were announced.

I was under the impression that $150.00 was the subscription price for the next year, not just the UP run but all content. If they are gonna charge subscribers extra for everything they stream then I'll just pass, unless it is reasonable. Anything more than $25 or $30 additional for Wanee would be too much IMO. Times are really tough money wise and I'm having enough trouble trying to scratch up enough to attend the first two nights of Mountain Jam in June. I don't even think current subscribers should pay a dime more. We were supposed to get 5 more UP shows and Butch didn't have to pay to stream those canceled shows. Hopefully they won't ask for something unreasonable.

More from Butch...

We are setting up the control bus, tent, room, whatever we decide to do, between the two stages. Our intention is to put as many bands as possible up on Moogis. If we can get every band that plays on the site then we will have achieved our ultimate goal. We will also have a roaming camera filming much of the activities going on in the camp grounds. I have an idea bout doing a drum circle late one of the nights led by Marc, Jaimoe and I. Grab your hand drum or your pots and pans and join in if you are so inclined. Bottom line is, we will get everything that we possibly can into your home. The amount of stuff that is being produced by this year's Wanee is the only thing that may make it impossible to bring it all. Quite often both stages will be going at the same time. We will have to choose which one we web cast. We will archive most of the bands. A few have declined to have their shows put up. We have no control over that. Most have no problem. Again, bottom line is we will archive everything that we can. We have staff enough to do this project. But we don't have the budget to overstaff. I said we are bringing in a satellite up link so that won't have the problem we had the first night in UP. Fact is, even though we did have that problem, you can still see that night anytime you want. If we had not been there and captured it then that would not be the case. If you think this is not worth it, then don't subscribe. Enough with all the negativity. I have enough stress on me putting this together as it is. We decided on Friday to do Wanee. We knew it would take a day or two to get the home page fully loaded with all of the details. I felt that you guys would like to know as soon as possible so I posted in here. All of the details will be posted on the home page as soon as possible. This will include price, time and place and anything else that you will need to know. 'Nuff said.

when I signed up last year I thought the idea was to subscribe for a year and they would be streaming shows from all sorts of venues.......not quite the reality of it. this year, everyone subscribed for another year knowing that there was a great chance there wouldn't be other shows avaiable for viewing. now that there are more shows for viewing, he is asking for more money????? what was the point of a yearly moogis subscription again??? i know this sounds negative and some people dont want to hear that one of their idols is keeping his hands in their pocket, but thats they way butch has come across to me in the last year. i can't trust him, and he is tarnishing my view of the allmans legacy.

My expectation of Moogis this year and last year was the NYC run only. It's a bonus to get some older shows on there and the 2 '09 shows from the fall tour. For me, any Moogis is better than no Moogis. I think it's a great thing and I don't want to see it go away. If I could be an investor I would, but I don't have that type of $$. For a few bucks to get Wanee and possibly Macon, I'm on board. I know times are tough, I'm making less this past year than a couple years ago. Music brings me joy, one of lifes best pleasures. I can go out to eat and spend $70 on a meal that was ok. I could go to the movies and spend $40 as a couple to get a film and a big ass box of Milk Duds. I'm with Butch on the negativity, think twice before clicking Post Reply. Keep Moogis alive.

If Butch sound testy, it's because, he starting to see how hard it is to keep (hardcore) fans happy. He's trying to bring the experience of live (in real time) music over the internet. I'm happy they are going to webcast Wanee Festival and Macon show on Moogis. I'm ready to sign up to watch the Brothers and the other bands that agree to be webcasts. This is how Butch envision how Moogis, was going to be.

Also, other bands may want to get involve with Moogis, when they see how it works. Expanding Moogis to other band other will help Butch in the long run. Word of Mouth, just in the ABB community will not help, in keeping Moogis alive. More people, better capital.

I'll throw in my perspective. I was bummed because my son decided that studying for college was more important than going to Wanee. My wife decided that staying at work was more important than going to Wanee. I guess I'm the only irresponsible one in family.

So, I am excited Butch has decided to put Wanee on Moogis. As long as the price is reasonable, $25 or so, I'm in.

From a business stand point, I don't think much of asking for more money. From a long term view point, you will have to lose money. You have to build customer loyalty to keep them as customers. Die hard fans like me will pay the additional fee, but many may view it as bad business.

But I know what will be on my TV 4-15 thru 4-17.

That was my impression as well. I think it was sold that way.

I wonder if subscribers will be able to access the archives of the Wanee shows without an additional fee.
