I just don't really care what my "karma" is.......not in a good or bad way, I just don't really care.....if you don't care, its not even there

Better than a "karma buddy", start a karma-raising thread. Once a day everyone who has posted in the thread can "bump up" everyone else. If 20 people join the thread that's 20 guaranteed points a day right there (minus yourself, of course). With enough people in the thread, posters should be immune to most trolls and mal-contents.

Just a suggestion...

I say keep it, but with some changes.

Make it so you can only give good or bad karma once a day.

It'll mean more that way!

I could care less either way. I don't need any rating to see who's got positive Karma. It is quite evident!

Too many people are consumed by this karma thing...if they don't dump it or change it this site won't be fun anymore.

it absolutely blows my mind how you are at neg 34.

I'd bump ya up one but I don't participate in something I find ridiculously pre-teen.

I don't have a clue how Charlie can be in the negative numbers either.

Thanks for the kind words piacere, call me Anna. I don't believe we've met.

Yes, my karma is low but I have to admit to having some morbid fascination with it. Each day there are dozens of people who bump me up (thanks for that folks!!) but there are an equal if not greater number who bump me down. Last night I went up by 20 points over the span of about two hours in the wee hours of the night!!

It's a little disappointing to see how people can be here though, to tell you the truth.

But I will say I've never seen a site with so many caring people. I've had so many people share music with me despite the fact that I had nothing to give.

My posts about my troubles on the Are You Sober thread have brought out many positive and caring members who sent me PM's of encouragement.

I guess like with everything in life, we just have to take the good with the bad.

But I would still say to the mods here---fix the karma thing.

It kills the peachy vibe!

Just an opinion,

Anna

Aw, thanks Ron. Don't worry about it man, it just means I get to read darn near everything on here . And believe me, most of what I read on here, even when the site is at its worst, is better than the vibe the ex-girlfriend was putting out the past month we've been apart. Maybe she had a borderline personality disorder 'split' or something, I don't know. There are just some things you can't fix with kindness and a box of tools though, and broken relationships are one of them..especially when BPD is involved. I feel like I've just been run over by a truck after what she did to me.

Again, appreciate the kind words.

been there, done that. It'll pass, trust me.

Hello anna, nice to meet ya.

What Pete (sixty8) said. It would work if people did it the way Rowland wanted. Rate the post, not the poster. It immediately became a popularity vote.
I give no credence to it.

I was taking an Italian course in school and one of the words we learned in class was piacere. (pee-uh-cherry) It means, "pleasure" as in "pleasure to meet you".

I hate the name. Call me Mark.

Ok Mark, call me either Anna or Rosie.

That's what everybody in the real world does.

Where are you from?

When I was in different parts of the country there were (are) people who actually didn't know where or what RI is. I'd tell them "it's near New York"

I bumped you up, anna. to 31. Now it's 33.

I don't understand this. I thought we were supposed to bump up or down according to the post and not the poster.

This is a joke.

I agree, it has turned into a joke. I just looked around at some of the ratings. This is not at all what Rowland intended with this system. It proves there is a lack of maturity in some of the people here.
