Have to agree with Manzarek on top. He essentially doubled as the group's bass player

Is it this time again?
Well, after reading the HOF thread maybe we should first define what rock and roll (or is it just "rock") is.

My own choices - order not specific:

Johnnie Johnson
Chuck Leavell
Danny Federicci
Keith Emerson
Rick Wakeman
Terry Adams
T Lavitz
Fats Domino
Jerry Lee Lewis
Gregg

It just depends on what I've been listening to lately ... my list could be different tomorrow!

Nicky Hopkins and Paul Hornsby were the first to come to mind.

Others: Chuck, N.C. Thurmond, Wakeman and Tony Kaye, Jerry Lee, Elton John.
Both of the guys playing with Clapton these days are damn good.
And of course George Wood and my boy Big Stephen McCollough

I'm a big fan of Nate Wilson & Rob Barracco. Not necessarily saying they are the best, but they are two of my favorites.

Chuck

The ABB, Gregg solo, Dickey solo, The Stones, Clapton, George Harrison, the first Black Crowes album.......
Great blues banger, jazzy stuff(live Liz or High Falls kills), and quiet soft touch stuff like from Laid Back. And of course Jessica.
