As we approach the last three shows what live favorites have yet to be played? and has there been any surprises in song selection.

most surprised that Stormy Monday and Wasted Words haven't been played (not the biggest fan of Wasted Words without piano). This lineup nails Stormy Monday.

I'm not totally surprised but disappointed to not hear High Cost of Low Living. Great tune that doesn't get enough rotation in recent years and the coda stands up to some of the ABB's all-time work.

Yes, that should have been a lock in betting terms.

It goes to show ya that you really never know what they might bust out. Who says this band is predictable?

Stormy Monday, Les Brers and Soulshine are big surprises for me as well. We also haven't seen such standards as:
Key to the Highway
Can't Lose What You Never Had

Could be a possible little bustout. It'd be a nice treat that's for sure!

Have they played ANY of the tunes off of Hittin' the Note? Suprising considering it's their last studio effort. I recall those tunes being played to death after the album dropped...not that thats a bad thing, not to mention its completely understandable. I recall all those shows I attended thinking, "man, I'd like to trade this Maydell out for a Leave my Blues at Home..." Now I'm thinking, "man, I'd like to trade this Leave my Blues at Home for a High Cost...!" I guess ultimately it's a testament to the quality of the album...sh*t, I'm dying for an Instrumental Illness at this point! Oh well, its most certainly all good...like someone above posted, you just never know what might be busted out. One hell of a catalogue of music! I do hope you folks in NY get a Les Brers, though...the one they played in Charlotte 10/4 was U-N-B-E-L-I-E-V-A-B-L-E.

Good catch, they played it on 3/11 and 3/15, and they played Heart Of Stone on 3/13.

Yeah, a total of 4 from Hittin The Note so far. I'd like to see it reach 6 with High Cost of Low Living and Old Friend.

I think the approach has been more of the same songs in the rotation and then more exploration and variation on those songs. Something that I am totally cool with because while I like a lot of diversity on the nightly set lists, I also really like them trying new things and new ways of the songs.

They'll probably close Friday or Saturday with WP. Derek will get his turn on Dreams one night and Mt Jam will be played again I'm sure. Cool thing about Mt Jam is they can open a set with it, close set with it, or do the sandwich of opening and closing a set with it - all of which I am a fan of.

They haven't played any of the Derek and the Dominoes stuff...Anyday, Why Does Love Have to be so Sad, Key to Highway, Layla. I'd bet Anyday will get thrown in before the run is over, with Susan probably. The other D&D songs are a bit rarer to hear.

I'd bet heavily that both Soulshine and and Les Brers will be played. I think Soulshine would make a good encore to kind of break up the typical few choices they roll out. Mule's done Soulshine as an encore and it works well I think.

I doubt they will play Instrumental Illness. It seems they've moved more towards Egypt and Bag End now. I don't know when the last time I remember seeing II on a set list.

Some of those other songs aren't really standards either, like Please Call Home, Old Before My Time, Maydell - if those songs aren't played I don't think it would be surprising at all.

I would be surprised if they didn't hit Wasted Words once.

I'd really like to see what they can do with a 3rd version of Kind of Bird. And am also so hoping they might play In a Silent Way. I saw them do it for the first time in 2007 I think and it was really awesome. I'd prefer no guests on it. The way that Derek has been playing this run that could be amazing.

I'd also be surprised not to get one or two of these before the run is over, but don't think we'll see Susan since she's on the road now.

Since they busted out "Kind Of Bird", "True Gravity" might not be completely out of the question. No likely, but...

Is Blind Willie McTell new in the rotation or have they played it in shows past - I really enjoyed it. Along the same lines, The Weight on 3/15 was once again a blast.

It looks like they gave Soulshine the week off.

Oh, thanks. That is one potential musician we can cross off the upcoming guest list then. Actually I like Oteil and Warren on Anyday just as much as Susan so still hope to hear it. We need to hear Oteil sing atleast once don't we! Maybe Barraco can come back and they can do Franklin's Tower.

As far as I know Friday was the first time they played it and I agree, it is a highlight here too. Never heard Dylan's version, but the ABB sure make it sound like their own. I'll also mention that I liked Ain't No Love in the Heart of the City without any guests quite a bit.
