Anyone else using S-Video to watch? I had same connection last year and was really happy with the picture quality, but this year it looks worse.

I've been playing with all the settings on my end, but I can't get it any better, or close to as good as last year.

Anyone else using S-Video with good results?

We are still using the S-Video connections this year. Last year wasn't bad but with the new site it is not as good. More pixilated and blotchy - i guess that is why there are better connections than the S-Video out there. We have a VGA to HDMI converter box but I'm just not smart enough to hook it to the GIANT 62" screen TV we are using. Works fine on a smaller screen TV...sigh...but i guess it didn't matter last night with all the skipping and pausing.

In the chat box last night, seems the quality of the video from how the site was set up last year compared to this year has resulted in lower quality video - not sure how it all works or if that is the case for just S-vid connection or HDMI too, or just something with the problems from last night's webcast.

It is disappointing to take a step backwards in picture quality. The only issue I had last year was an occational pixilation when a stage light would shine right at the camera, this year it is constant pixilation problems. Although I do remember certain shows have a better picture than others so maybe things will get better as the shows go on?

Do people think the archived 09 Beacon shows are same quality as when they were originally streamed?

A different cable is not going to make any difference when the video
stream is low quality. It's not going to look better on HDMI than s-video.
In fact, it might even look a little worse as the pixilation will be even clearer.
