Greetings from NYC!

Hittin' the Note arrived in the Big Apple yesterday and the first thing we did was check out the venue - amazing! Really beautiful and the staff has been very welcoming.

I've gotta feeling this is gonna be a good run and here's why - have you ever noticed that the Monday and Tuesday night shows in NYC seem to burn a little brighter? It seems to me that the band recognizes that a lot of the hardcore fans come out for those nights. I think they are gonna feel the same way about their fans that show up at the UP and they are going to show their appreciation through their playing. Just a hunch...

For those of you coming tonight - please look for the HTN table which is set up on the right side as you come through the front doors - please stop by and say hi to me and Gregg Potter, who is up here with the Big House Foundation. It's always fun to connect with this family!

The excitement begins in about 6 hours! You will be able to buy the shows from the merch stand and pick them up about 30 minutes after the concert. Hittin' the Note will also have these shows for sale with delivery in a few weeks!

See ya'll soon,

JNB

I thought it was a pretty damn good opening night!

We got an original tune back in the set list that Warren and Dickey wrote and the ABB performed back around 1992 or so. Gregory's voice sounded as good and as strong as I can remember. Oteil is the man - I could feel his goodness all the way up in the balcony. Every one of the players had their moments. Every one of the players had their moments. Kind of Bird - whoa! That really took me back, couldn't help but visualize Dickey playing it and my jaw dropping the first time I heard it...but this version was just fine too! That has got to be one difficult song to play and Warren and Derek showed a lot of respect for the music on this tune. We are so lucky - all of these band members are individually "Hall of Fame" caliber and we get to see them all in the same band.

It's good to be back in NYC and it was a blast seeing all the familiar faces!

Glad you liked the show Joe!

James, I believe you can buy the CDs at the show and have them mail them to you, or you can order them online from Hittin' the Note. We should have this show up for purchase online later today.

Helluva night tonight, hellava night!!

Wow - the set list, the playing and singing, the audience - everything seemed amped up tonight and rockin'!

IKiller setlist. The Bros always do a good job of selecting choice tunes and make them their own. They really stretched out on some songs and the spontanious artistry of Derek and Warren was there for all to enjoy.

It was very nice to hear Susan's two songs as well as "All My Friends." Everyone that hears Susan knows she has the best pipes in the biz but she can also throw down on that guitar! There was a great moment where Warren and Derek were both smiling at Susan telling her to take another round on lead and she did and it was wicked!

Was sittin' next to Chank while "All My Friends" was played. Man, that one took us both on a trip back to 1974...lots of memories of that time, some are so bittersweet.

I talked to the Moogis guys before the night started and they were upset that yesterday a downstream feed from them was where the problem was. They were doing the fans a solid by broadcasting in higher resolution and someone down the line didn't handle it right. Believe me, these guys want you to have a great experience but understand they are on the bleeding edge of technology.

The Beacon, The United Palace - doesn't matter, I'm going to bed a happy music lover. All night long I was into the moment and this band made this church in NYC the center of the musical universe - it was what we used to call a "happening." Damn glad I was there!

I have to say, reading about the first two shows has me excited for next weekend!
Hope to see a lot of the folks from the board at the HTN table and/or our party on the 20th.

The United Palace really reminds me of the Fox in Atlanta, and if it's half as cool as that, I'm sure I'm going to be a happy camper
