i have been to Memorial Field, Orioles Park, RFK, Nationals Park, Three Rivers and Candlestick for baseball.

Seeing Willie Mays play at Three Rivers was the best. Almost caught a foul ball he hit in BP.

The most mellow crowd was at The Stick, lost to the cubs
and it was still groovy.

Was it a baseball game or a Dead concert?

Don't think the Dead ever lost to the cubs. Had to be the Giants

now if it had been a Giants/Dodgers game, it could get nasty.

And the Yankees show some pinstripe pride. Had they played like this in either of the last two games we would not be gearing up for a BEST case scenario of facing Cliff Lee on Saturday. I somehow knew that moving up Cano would get the top of the order moving.

I see I missed all the fun today..

Or not.

Missed most of the game today (work) but my intention was to not watch any of it at all.
Just fed up and disgusted overall.
But I did not want my last view of the 2010 Yanks to be of Texiera collapsing at 1st base.

C'mon down! I didn't see anything but the first inning of the game. Just had a feeling the Yanks would be all over this one. Hard to beat anyone 4 games in a row, let alone the Yankees. Now things get interesting! I expect the Yanks to be loose and come out swinging. We'll see how the Rangers do at closing them out. I really don't want to see a game 7, even with Cliff Lee on the mound. Does anyone ever just call him Lee?

Oh, bullsh!t. Here, I fixed it for you:

"Other than that, it seems to fit the very vocal, but ultimately a small minority of yankee fans to a "T" - which is not unlike the overbearing fans of every other sporting team in the country."

There...that's a little more accurate...

Surprising. Giant fans have a reputation for being some of the nastiest in baseball.

Maybe they were shell shocked from losing to the Cubs.

I've been to a game in SF. Everyone was too busy trying to stay warm to get nasty.

I've never been to a game there, but I got that off a poll of MLB players....Best clubhouse food, favorite ballparks, best umpires, best looking female fans, ect. I was surprised to see SF on that list myself. As I recall, the fans in St. Louis got the highest marks by the players.

If game got rained out would they be able to skip Hughes, use Pettitte in game 6 and then pitch CC on three days rest if the Yanks won game 6? Would they?

Why not start CC in game 6 if that's the case? What're you gonna save him for? A game that may not happen?

He just pitched on Wednesday. He needs at least 3 days rest. Could not start until Sunday which would be game 7 if game 6 were rained out. My guess is that is what they would do.

He's saying he has 50 pitches in him tonight if they need him. Push game 6 to tomorrow, you could start him, have Hughes come in for a couple, then Woods. Pettitte on Sunday if you get there. Might as well go for it. Do or die at this point.

I hope they play tonight though.

It's looking more and more likely that they will play tonight. This is kind of exciting! Thank goodness, the Cowboys suck!

They would never start him on less than three days rest. You do not start a pitcher planning to give him only 50 pitches. A fully rested Hughes or Pettitte is infinitely preferable to a Sabbathia who pitched a full game 2 days before. What Girardi is saying is that in the event Hughes falters early and they cannot go right to Wood, Sabbathia is an option for an inning or so. You would never start a pitcher on such short rest. It's not that they would be saving him. It's that he wouldn't be prepared to pitch more than an inning or at most two.
