Congrats to the Tampa Bay Rays, 2010 AL East Champs.

And kudos to the yanks as well...despite stumbling down the stretch and losing 17 of their last 26 games, they manage to hang on for the wildcard. But unless they can find a way to turn it back on, I'm afraid it will be a short post season for the bombers.

I never EVER count the Yanks out until I know they're home drinking a beer, and watching the WS on tv.
Longoria will be just fine.

Hopefully you're right, but the Twins haven't exactly torn it up down the stretch either -- Mauer I guess will be healthy but numerous of their pitchers & other players, like Nick Punto, Orlando Hudson, Casilla, several of the many middle relievers -- have been hurt.
NY has the experience -- if the Twins are healthy, it will be a Good series

Varitek says he wants to come back next year -- Bring Back Tek!!

Lights-out pitching will do it every time -- that's what September proved again -- according to the stats SF's pitching in Sept. held the opposition to a collective .181 BA, WOW -- also Philly's 4 starters, Halladay, Hamels, Oswalt & the 4th, went a collective 16-1 in Sept. -- damn

you know that will be the NL matchup -- personally I'd like to see Atl-Cincy & a potential pitching matchup of Bronson Arroyo & Derek Lowe, the heroes & backups to Schilling & Pedro on our 2004 team -- the AL, who knows -- but go Twins, they deserve it more than NY

Yeah that's a big bummer for them. I think it will be the Yanks/Rays in the ALCS.

Pretty cool thing at Citi Field today. Nationals first baseman Adam Dunn was removed from the game for a pinch runner. After he was in the dugout, he took a bunch of his bats and passed them out to some kids in the stands.
Just goes to show, something good CAN happen at Citi Field.

Not sure if handing out baseball bats in NYC is a good idea though

The Yankees have a major starting pitching problem. After Sabathia and Hughes they are a disaster. C.C. is tough, but he can't pitch onn one days rest.

Andy pitched well his last start. Problem is, I dont think his stamina is all there.. he missed too much time.
I have a really bad feeling about this postseason. I sure hope I am wrong.

Justin hasn't been there most of the year -- hopefully they can get it done without him, as they did after he got hurt.
He missed all of last Sept. & the playoffs with the bad back, started out awesome this year, now this -- if he hasn't recovered in time to make the playoffs then his injury must be devastating -- no chances are being taken, obviously -- just as well, this great player would be too rusty to be of any good now -- hopefully he'll be able to continue his career next season

They're SUPPOSED to be playing a playoff game in St Pete today!

I would not call Andy Pettitte a disaster. In fact in a hairy situation there is no one else I would rather hand the ball to.

Excellent game by Cliff Lee today. Now we'll see what Shields will do...if anything.
Unless of course Joe changes his mind!

Hey now! Pena batted .196 and struck out almost half of the times he batted this year. What more do you expect from a former Detroit Tigggger?

If Pena would have been smart he coulda' pulled a Jeter on that play.
