Red Sux fire their manager. Shocking. They do it every few years. Do they regret getting rid of Francona?

Strange move. I know they've had their ups and downs (mostly ups) with Farrell, but it sounds like there was more going on.

How 'bout them Yankees? What a game last night. As soon as Gardner and Frasier stretched Allen to over 30 pitches I knew Gardner would be able to drop one in the corner and get at least 1 run in, but TWO? Great comeback for NY, all with out Judge and Sanchez. Glad we don't have to hear that stupid drum anymore.

Hoping the Nats are able to send the Cubs home.

Not quite sure what's going on in Boston; but this is definitely not as advertised. Surely can't blame Farrell for the drop in attendance after Ortiz retired. Have to think David Price's anger is a big part of this

I think Boston's management has been kind of weird for years. Why fire Francona as I mentioned. Then replace him with a guy who you now just fired.

And how did Dombrowski get hired two minutes after the Tigers fired him? That had to have been already planned.

Let's face it, Boston is a bunch of cheaters.

Congratulations Lee.

It was an epic game. I'm glad I went.

Now the refunds for the tickets I bought for the next series will completely pay for the four night February run of TTB at the Warner in DC. It will even pay for at least one night hotel stay.

Damn Nationals.

Oh well. Opening Day is right around the corner.

Wow, those must have been expensive tickets! Tickets for the Cubs/Dodgers game tomorrow start at $130 for standing room only. And they strictly enforce where you can stand. They never use to.

An upper deck seat starts at $160. Pretty pricey.

The ticket for the first series, bought through pre-sale, was $135. I had tickets for two games of the NLCS. They were in the same section and cost $235.

Hey Lee... I know this doesn't belong here but I've already established degrees of separation. Tickets go on sale tomorrow for the TTB pre-sale at the Chicago theatre. I'm pretty sure you can get lower prices tickets with lower fees if you take advantage of the the pre-sale. No password necessary. Just link through their website.

I like the first night with JJ Grey. I will shoot for those tickets.

Oh, and just turned on the Yankees game and Joe Buck is one of the worst announcers of all time.

They should team him up with Ken Harrelson.

Buck is pretty terrible. Could barely stand him last night.

Romine is catching in place of Sanchez and I'm not surprised. I've been blown away Girardi kept Sanchez behind the plate in the playoffs, he should be DH. It's been a running joke how often a pitch gets behind him. And he hasn't even been hitting lately, so what good is he?

I'm with you guys on Joe Buck.

I love it when he's on the Howard Stern show. Every caller tells him he sucks.

Well it looks like my Flubs are done. Fans were actually leaving Wrigley before the game was over.

Oh well, we did win one.

Eh that sounds about right. Teams have come back from 0-3, but it is easier to give up.

Just one in baseball though. Boston.

Got front row in a box in a radio presale. The boxes there are really cool!

That Vin Scully "throwing" out the first pitch was really cool. The Dodgers did a great job with that.

They both had very good seasons -- we matched 2016 W-L record & div title despite no Price or Pedroia for most of it

NY played good in 2nd half, came back against Cleve in playoffs etc etc

why they should fire their mngrs after their teams played well makes no sense

7-month rehab for Pedey after knee surgery -- he's left it all out there & likely relegated to non-fulltime (& no-less crucial) status when he returns

Looking forward to tonight's game. Kind of surprised that Houston is favored when L.A. has Yu pitching.

Re: Girardi he is a numbers only/overanalyze type of manager. Very good; always prepared. He just never seems to go with his gut. The feeling in NY is that he wasn't relating well to the younger players.

Some marriages end in bitter divorces; others end just because the two parties don't seem to see exactly eye to eye. This parting seems like the latter. Only time will tell if the decision was correct.

Boston doesn't read much differently.

I've thought this since Francona left. Why would you fire him?

re Boston i'm talking Farrell (in the same vein as Girardi.) . Francona's firing remains a mystery. And he sure didn't sign Crawford & Gonzalez.
