I am looking for advice as to who within the ABB management I can contact with a grievance. I purchased 3 tickets to the March 26 show for seats that sold at approx. $100 per ticket at face value. Made my purchase through ticketmaster.
Contacted Ticketmaster today to check on my refund and was informed that although the "ticket price" would be refunded, my "processing fees" of $40 for the order of three tickets was non-refundable.

That is an outrage. I am being charged $40 just because I wanted to see a band play a concert that got cancelled? Does band management realize that thousands of their fans are LOSING MONEY simply because they wanted to support the ABB by going to a show?
This is not right. If the band cancelled the gigs, they are the ones who should eat the cost, not the customer who was helpless in the situation.

Any thoughts on who to contact to discuss this issue further. I am totally dismayed by this and it leaves me with a very negative feeling - on top of the obvious disappointment that my trip from CA to NYC is now a total wash.

I doubt you will find anyone in ABB management to give you a refund. If you read the TM agreement, you will see the fine print says fees are not refundable. The same thing happened two years ago. Your best bet is to call customer service and politely , but persistently state your case. Don't get off the phone until they offer a refund. Ask for a supervisor if necessary and be stubborn.

Did the automated system tell you you would not get back the $40? I believe that automated system is including the convenience charge in that calculation. You should get back the convenience charge.

I called and spoke to somebody and they confirmed you will only be charged the ordering processing fee which should be ~$5 for your 4 tix. I guess we'll see whenever the refund comes.

i called ticketbastard as well, the customer service rep said i'd get back everything except 2.25 per ticket that was some insane non-refundable fee. if anyone's looking for seats wait till the night of the show, brokers are gonna eat mucho dinero on this run...

Not sure if it's true earlier someone else made a post in another thread saying if you call your credit card company and challenge those fees they might credit you back and collect from TM.

This sounds like one for the NY Attorney General ;-)

Yep.... two years ago we paid thro' Mastercard and after much fruitless argument with Ticketbasturd challenged the booking fee thro' Mastercard with the result that we got every penny refunded - ticket price, booking fee, the lot.

Ciao English,
I 've not yet received my refund, but they say it tooks 3-10 days before you can see it.
I will wait all this week, then can go mad with TM.

I've read that you changed all your plan after cancellation.
How Could you find tickets for 20th ? I am cominf from Europe too, I had tkts for 19th and 22 and would like to be on sat 20th too, since I will miss the cancelled show.

dude, if you're looking for a ticket on the 20th i'd wait to the day of the show.
tix are going for less than face value on craigslist, stubhub, and other broker sites so the night of the show you're gonna be able to get a real cheap seat.

I am stunned at the way the bottom is falling out of this ticket market...think panic is setting in.

I may end up with 2 extras for Thursday. They are singles and I'll obviously only be looking for face, both are orchestra, both in center section, one at the higher price and one at the lower price.

Won't know until closer to time but if interested feel free to email me at:

I have posted this before but the message seems to have not gotten through. maybe it will in this thread.

First of all, TM.com will refund everything except the per order fees of $3.70 per order. That is of course unfair.

But rather than complain to TM, or the band or write emails this is what you do.

Once you get your refund for your tickets, call your CREDIT CARD COMPANY and tell them TM has refused to refund the amount of the fees and tell them how much it was. In a day you will have the money refunded to your card.

That was the case when ABB canceled all '08 shows at the Beacon.

No reason to get upset folks, simply call CC company and they will take care of it.

We all do a LOT of business with our CC companies and it is in their interest to keep us satisfied. For $4, $8 or $12, they will simply credit your account.

That's all you have to do. Nothing to worry about and nothing to get upset about. Let ticketmaster have their fees. We can still get our money back. That is what matters. TM will never be fair but we can still not take any loss whatsoever.

It works. I do over $1K of business with my AMEX card a month and do you think they care about $3.70? Small potatoes. Not even worth them pursuing the matter.

Good luck everybody and just be cool and simply get your money back from your card. Their customer service people will be glad to assist you.

peace and enjoy the shows!!

I just got an automated call from Ticketmaster about the cancelation. It was depressing to hear it again but it's otherwise got good news. They say all of these fees will be refunded:

"Your TicketMaster order will automatically be credited with ticket price and convenience charges, and should post to your account within 7 to 10 business days from today.
[...]
Please note that $3.70 per order processing fee and $2.50 TicketFast fee will also be refunded. Any UPS delivery charges are non-refundable."
