Hey there sweet family,

Due to an unforeseen family matter, the Allman Brothers Band shows scheduled for March 22-27 in New York City have been cancelled. The shows scheduled for March 11-20 at the United Palace will take place as planned. Refunds are available at point of purchase. The group looks forward to seeing their fans at all their upcoming performances including their Wanee Festival in Florida (April 16 & 17), the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival (April 23-25) and at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Festival (June 26).

Take care and know that you are loved,

Lana

Wow, that's crazy.

I know it sounds far-fetched but...were ticket sales low?

I just won a bet. I had bet a friend the 5 added shows would get the axe after we noticed how badly they had sold.

So many possibilities, but I'm not gonna say a word.

Wow. Lana posted on the GB that there would be no other shows in 2010 other than what have been scheduled, and Macon to be announced Mon, and possibly Huntsville on 4-24. I'm speechless.

"unforeseen family matter"

We speculate about so much on this website, let's just take that for what it says.

I personally would think if it was due to low ticket sales, they would have said that or at least something different than a family matter.

Not sure how they would've throttled down their schedule gracefully anyhow...we knew this was coming....didn't we?

In the history of rock and roll, has anyone EVER said shows were canceled because sales sucked????

lack of ticket sales.. a band would never announce that.. most of the people i know who would be going to the beacon are not planning to go to nyc this year

but this makes Moogis not quite the good deal it was

you probably have to say illness or something like that to legally get out on the contract to cancel the dates if it is poor sales. I have never seen an act yet admit poor ticket sales lol.

I think we all knew the band was going to slow down in 2010. While it is sad, we should all be greatful for the 41 years of musical magic the band has left upon us. I know I am very greatful for the 51 shows I have enjoyed.

I'm sorry to hear about the family matter AND I am sorry to observe poor ticket sales. There are very good seats available for all the weekday shows. I just pulled 2 7th row center orch for a Tuesday show and 2 second row lower loge aisle for a Monday show. These are better than what came up on the Peach Corps presale and that was a long time ago.

Poor economy = poor ticket sales
I know so many people from this site who aren't going this year, so I'm not surprised.
I am going to the show on Mar. 20th and happy to be going.

I think it is insulting that we are expected to believe this excuse. I am so glad I made the pilgrimage last year and didn't make plans this year b/c it would have fallen on those dates. Would have cost me a $400 plane ticket along with all the other costs in preperation.
