A number of you have been asking about things to do when in NYC...today a cool exhibit of Grateful Dead artifacts/memorabilia opens at the NY historical Society.

The exhibit space is at 77th and Central Park West, a neighbourhood I know many of you are familair with! Hours kind of vary but you can pretty much count on them to be open from 11am to 5pm Tues-Sun, closed Mon. 212.873.3400 if you need to call them.

It's $12 for adults but I have a call into them to see if they'll give the ABB gang a discount if you show them a ticket from the Palace run...will advise on this.

www.nyhistory.org is the web address...

my friend went to something else sat and saw the exhibit which she said was cool, a few rooms of exhibits. the gift show i stopped into on my way over there at the historical society had dead objects galore: jerry ties, bandanas, posters, eco canteens and a lot of cool stuff. like walking into the 60's. $12 is steep but my friend has a pass from her last job that will get us in free

Well unfortunately the NY historical Society suffers from paralysis by analysis. After 3 back and forth call they were talking about getting their legal department involved and wondered what the band would want in the way of "quid pro qou" and it became clear the hoops they were proposing jumping through are just overwhelming, you'd think they were a bunch of bankers or something!! A simple "show your ticket for 50% off" just wasn't part their playbook.

I gave it a shot...

PS...if you do check the exhibit out while you are up there treat yourself to a burger (or 2!) at the Shake Shack, corner of 77th of Columbus.
