SHARE is a big IBM / Mainframe oriented conference.

This year it is being held in Seattle, March 14 - March 18.

A. Anyone from here going?

B. Any suggestions for stuff to do in Seattle during that timeframe?

Know of any good shows in that area?

Restaurants that must be visited?

Is this your excursion for the year? I'm hoping to go to the z/Expo in the Fall.

I have a friend on Facebook that lives there. I sent her a message asking her where all the good restaurants are. There was one place I saw on the food channel but I can't remember the name of the place. I will let you know when she responds Don. Have a good time.

We are in tight with IBM, our rep put our company in for a freebie, we got accepted.

SEVERAL other people were asked if they wanted to go before me....

Just so you all know, I ain't no big fish neither.....

Thanks for any suggestions.

I know Anchor Steam is big in San Fran, but what about Seattle?

I suppose I could go locate the Edgewater Inn, rent a pole, get some bait:

"There's a motel in Seattle, Washington, called the Edgewater Inn . . . The Edgewater Inn is built out on a pier . . . so that means that when you look out your window you don't see any dirt, it's . . . got a bay or something out in your backyard . . .

Mud Sh-sh-shark

And to make it even more interesting, in the lobby of the aforementioned motel there's a bait and tackle shop where the residents can go down and, whenever they want to, rent a fishing pole and some preserved minnows and schlep back up to their rooms, open the window, stick their little pole outside and within a few minutes actually catch a fish of some sort that they can bring into their motel room and do whatever they want with it, you know what I mean?

Mud Sh-sh-shark

Let's say you were a travelling Rock and Roll band called The Vanilla Fudge . . . let's say one night you checked into the Edgewater Inn with an 8mm movie camera . . .

Are you experienced? Jimi Hendrix museum in Seattle. I'm also told that a trip to Pike Place Market is fun - watch out for the flying fish! Have fun - never been to Seattle but my nephew goes often to visit his dad and loves it there.

I go to Seattle at least once a year being a 33 year suffering Seahawks fan , the wife and I stay at the Edgewater Inn everytime we go its a bit more expensive but its the city's only hotel right on the water and it is a very cool place . Do yourself a favor and go to Lowell's for breakfast its in the Pike's Market and its an excellent place to start your day with a good meal , also in the market is the Sound Veiw Cafe with its clam chowder if you like that , there is no shortage of great seafood in Seattle , Anthony’s Pier 66 and Bell Street Diner is a very nice place and the food is great the best chowder I think I have ever tasted and if you go there and you like beer have a pint of Old Seattle Lager , in fact you can go on a tour of thier brewery which I have not done yet but plan to .
Check out Easy Street Records in West Seattle , there are two in Seattle and you can have a beer while you check out the music , Warren likes this store , Mule played there once and put out a EP from the show , its a great music store . I hope that helps thats just off the top of my head if I think of some more things for you I will post them , have fun Seattle is a wonderful place have fun .

The Beatles also stayed at the Edge , there is a famous photo of the Fab Four hanging out thier window with a fishing rod , the room they stayed in is now the Beatles themed room which the wife and I asked the cleaning lady if we could check it out , no one was staying in it so she let us in for a look , lots of Beatles stuff including the famous fishing picture hanging o the wall .
