We have one of each. A siamese cross eyed cat and a lhasa apso super stupid dog. LOL...but we love them.

I like both equally for their individual attributes.

My dogs are so smart. I ask them what is that covering that tree and they say 'bark'. I ask them what the texture of sandpaper is and they say 'ruff'.....

My cats are cool and my dog is a real sweetie. I can't imagine not having them around to keep me company. Ferrets are fun too...used to have a couple....both died of old age.

I love dogs, but I own two cats. Gotta support the felines on this one.

The kitten, Scout, almost always meows when she hears "Stormy Monday" and she's sat attentively through the Beacon DVD twice with me. She's also on top of me whenever I play slide guitar, and sometimes even bites the strings trying to catch my hands.

The big feller, Captain, loves to stay up late and play the blues with me, but still doesn't like whiskey. I can't wait to set-up my computer for recording so I can get some tracks of his vocals on blues songs. Would be hilarious.

I am a dog person. I did have a kitten once, peed in my dad's bed.

No more cats for me.

My old sheperd/lab mix Lady used to sing along with my guitar.

Peace
John

Would a cat drop everything to run and get help after Timmy fell in the well...or was caught up a tree...or being swept down the river...or, or, or....

Man that Timmy was a dumbass.

A cat would be the first one to tell ol' Timmy what a dumbass he was for falling into the well.

How true. And then to drive the point home it would probably lift a hind leg and clean butt.

I keep thinking of George Carlin's dog vs. cat skit. Too funny. F-ing meow.

Short story:

I was raised with Dogs (no, not by dogs!), at one point my family had 12 of the damn things....and i hated cats.

at my first programming job there was a stray kitten that someone found behind our building. my bosses wife was a vet, took it home, spayed it and declawed it...it became the company cat. Anyway, the cat used to jump up on my desk and would eventually sleep on my chest while i typed away.....he was a real cool cat.

eventually, the boss became allergic and the cat had to go....i told my husband "Man, that is one hell of a good cat and i want him!" and he was all like "I DONT WANT SOME PISSY CAT!!".

naturally, i won the argument...and that cat is the best pet we've ever, ever had. His name is PI, or 3.14159265 for short.

when your a married couple with no kids, your pets are like your children and this one is a spoiled brat.

just saw a sign today: Dog's have Masters....Cats have Staff....

Dogs, without a doubt!

We've got a 4 year old mutt (Terrier/Shepherd ++?? mix) named Maggie that we "rescued" from the pound - good-natured, smart, loving and we have yet to find any, and I mean any, "people food" that she will not eat. Plus, she "sings" when I play guitar or when my daughter plays her clarinet.

I don't like "hot dogs," though..........

Animals in general are so cool.

But here's the way I see it: Dogs require WAY more attention than cats. (Unless your my cat, Nigel, who seems to go in to cardiac arrest everyday when I leave for work.) So I guess it depends on the amount of time you have to offer your pet. - I, like Linnie, grew up with dogs and not caring much for cats, until I came across some of the coolest cats ever. Now I love cats. (You can leave cats alone when you have to) But I love them both.

I'm married with no kids and our cats our like our children too!
