Good tickets are coming up for the Allmans on Ticketmaster right now. I just scored 14 th row for 3/13 at the 150.00 price. I didn't try any of the other nights.

Thanks. Looks like just the first 5 nights they are unloading some of the VIPs. I'm still needing 3 for 3-18 and they remain marginal. Will keep looking.

If you're still looking, this would be a good time to check TM. Just scored 3 for 3-18, row GG, right center. Wow, I've spent way too much on ABB tix today!

Good for you, Brock. I am so happy you got the tix you wanted!

I don't think the availability of seats has anything to do with unloading of VIP seats. After all those shows were cancelled, management had to spread around what was available to them.

In my instance, the tix I got absolutely are the VIPs. This is based on hours of searching the various VIPs for that night (so I'd know what was left), right up to the time the VIPs were taken off the TM page.

If there are less shows, it seems like there should be less mgt comp tix available for release, not more.

Man I never looked at the price levels on this years tickets before...wow. It's unforunate they decided to make them so inflated when considering the new venue and the economy, I'm sure plenty of people couldn't swing doing this even though they would have liked to. If they would have brought the ticket tiers back to $50, $75, and $110, what a difference that would make. What were the price tiers for last years Beacon shows?

Price tiers for last year were virtually the same, except loge at Beacon was $100, instead of $150. The seats that they are unloading now are INDEED the VIP seats. My guess, also from countless time spent checking over the last month, is that 80% of the front center seats were platinum/gold/silver seats. That was a huge mistake on whoever's part it was to set those vip levels. What kills me is that they didn't see the error after the first week of slow vip sales. They should have released them and sent out emails to the effect of "Great seats just released". The inconvenience of uptown is part of the lack of interest. But the VIP deal was just a real boner on management's (or whoever) part.

That said, I cannot wait for Monday. These will be the only shows I get to see this year if there is no summer tour. I hope to see this band next year and the year after, and the year after.

LONG LIVE THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND!!

This is unbelievable. Even though I'm set for 3 shows, just went on TM for fun.
Right now, you can still get for Friday 3/19 - 15th Row OO Orchestra on the right center aisle, and
for 3/20 - 14th row NN Orchestra left center near the aisle.
I'd say for sure, there will never be another UPT run. Maybe back to the Upper West side next year.
But want to also agree with Mule 75. I, too hope to see the band year after year after year.
Everybody is saying (not just ABB faithful) how great they all looked and sounded on Jimmy Fallon the other night - especially Gregg.
Let the Road Go on As Long As Possible!!!

Keep in mind OO is the last row of $150 seats, then it goes to $100, so narrow your search to $100/Orch to save $50 for possibly just a few rows farther back (the lower Silver pkg offered tix here).

I've seen some lower loge seats too, which for $150 might be better than like 14th row Orch.

Clearly the VIPs were a bust, but for the vigilant, it worked out. I love it when a plan comes together!

I was going to pass on the run this year due to many factors (money, location ect) but my buddy scored two for Tuesday night from a radio station, so up in the balcony I will be!!. Just would not be spring if I don't see the ABB....

The price tiers were the same, but last year, only the first ten rows were top tier, this year the entire front orchestra as well as lower loge were top tier. That plus the VIP prices means the band was trying to implement a HUGE price increase at a less-than-desirable venue, during poor economic times, after a big-splash of a 40th anniversary run. Someone's head should be rolling for that decision.

So true, Alan. Last year, I personally did not want to spend $150 on a show and 11th row Center at the show with E.C. on the 20th was an incredible seat for $100.

From what I understand the band was playing and staying at the Beacon year after year "at a discount", so when they went to the United Palace they got their full rate so I guess the ticket prices were raised to compensate for this. Who sets the tickets prices? The venue or the promoter. I assume the band is contracted at a set price and then might get a percentage of the gate?

Making all the good seats, all of the orchestra and all of the front of the loge, $150 is rough, really closes out a good bit of your fan base.
