Just pulled my first 5 instant live shows out of the mailbox! I have Charlotte playing and the sound is EXCELLENT. And by the way, the packaging is VERY nice. Did the discs sold at the shows have such first rate packaging? Definately more than I expected. These are really nice, Thanks to all @ Kid Glove. I'll be looking for my sixth show to arrive in a few days.

Since it seems to take an extra 4 or 5 days to get mail from Kid Glove into Iowa, I know my time ain't long now

dlannom'

have they made a charge against your credit card yet? my card doesn't show any new activity so my thinking is perhaps I didn't make the cut. My order went in on Oct. 19th

They won't charge until the order is ready. See the "What's the Dealio?" thread on this forum.

I ordered mine first day. Then got an email six days later. Like a dumbash, I had checked 03 as the CC expiration. The email said my card was expired, can't process. So I had to go through it all again. This time I ordered an additional show. That will teach me.

I was able to enjoy a couple of mine at work today, and man, these are so well done. The mix is right, vocals crisp and clear, ambience, just the right amount of crowd noise. The subtle, quiet passages in Inst. Illness are spacious and clear and the smokin' guitar parts in Rocking Horse scream. Absolutely first rate recordings imho. The packaging is what really suprised me. I was expecting a sort of 'brown bag' affair, but all are 3 disc shows packed in trifold cd cases similar to those used in the new Led Zep live set. The only thing missing is the set list and running times, which is understandable. I hope this catches on and we see more bands doing the instant live thing. I have a feeling these discs may be the first ripple in the wave of the future.

Just an idea! I printed out the set list from this site and trimmed them up then put them in my "instant live" cd's

Good point. I wouldn't complain if they were "brown bag" plain packaged because of the mix and the music. It is important to note the presentation is head and shoulders over the Dead's Summer tour and more professional than Peter Gabriels Summer offerings, the only two other tour discs I bought into this year.

the instant live concept is fantastic. gregg is my man but, he may have had it wrong when he said "hittin' the note" was the best lp the band has cut since eat a peach. the 6 instant live cds give you the feel that they are the best thing since "fillmore east". thanks to all involved in releasing the additional cds at kid glove.

I agree 100% Revonah. I was listening to some of the shows all day yesterday and thinking, these guys may well be entering the most creative period in their history. When you think of the really heartbreaking low point of Reach for the Sky, which saddened me so when it was released, the ressurection of this band is phenomenal. I think there may be truly great things ahead for the Brothers and us.

I don't like the lack of set list info. I can download but
how to keep with the packaging?

Minor complaint. Shows sound great.

Excellent points Revonah. I don't think HTN is the best thing they've soen since EAP either but these Instant Live shows are really something. Some magical moments on the 2 I have.
