What do you do for a living?

I'm a bar manager/waitress in a high volume bar on the campus of the University of Michigan.

It's a high energy type job and the hours stink, but I do enjoy it.

If you care to indulge me, tell me what you do!

I sell sweet relaxation and hydrotherapy, everbody should own a Hot Tub or Spa! It is great for arthritis, diabetes II patients, and stress from everday life! Can you imagine coming home from a long day and melting the stress away! It's great for rejuvenating relationships with your significant other as well . They are simple to take care of and make your life much more enjoyable. Many of the spas feature aromatherapy as well as chromatherapy. The foot jets are like heaven and many have neck jets that feel amazing.

It's like taking a vacation everyday, right in your own backyard.

Union Pacific rings a bell. The army paid my grandmother to keep her cafe by the train tracks open during the war and twenty-four hours a day, the troop trains would stop so the guys could get off and eat before they traveled on to their destination. She said the worst of all were the trains bringing the soldiers home with shell shock. Mom told me the soldiers would just sit unmoving in the cars, not speaking, not moving, not getting out. It was really sad.

There's a legend about how my grandfather foiled a train robery in the early part of the centurey.....he convinced the robbers he had to get off the train to switch tracks because another train was incoming on the one they were on....when they let him off he ran to get the authorities.

I loved traveling by train and one of my fondest memories as a kid was watching the big locomotive hauling coal to the plant up the street travel on tracks that ran right down the street in front of where my grandmother lived....which was right across the street from the cafe. It was always exciting to see that big engine pass by. Thanks for the memories.

I agree, I've had a tub since '75. It was redwood ,hand cut by coopers and assembled on site. Currently we have one from Hot Springs .

....and I'm retired from the grocery industry.

I collect old and rare photographs and sell them and show them at exhibitions. My latest collection, based on a theme began unexpectedly after finding a couple of old boxes of phtographs at an estate sale a couple of years ago, is titled "The Faces Of Syphilitic Circus Clowns From The 1940s." The collection is slated for an exhibition at the Rocky Mills Art Gallery in Indianapolis beginning with the opening on May 6th, 2010. You can view some of the photographs here - www.zombo.com.

I almost did that, but at the last minute I became an engineer instead.
