We've got about 18 inches and expect up to a foot more. I've had no power since about 9:00 last night. I've got a gas stove so I've got hot coffee and it's no problem keeping the beer cold.

Oh Lord, I feel for you and all the others during this intense storm but I'm glad it's missing Boston for a change. Sorry for being selfish but dam I've had my share through the decades! This is when a gas stove is a blessing. Coffe and beer, Ya Mon! How are the snow drifts? I would imagine some wild pictures to surface from this. Be safe Rhonda.

I went through this many times in IN, which is why I currently live in GA.

Be safe and hang in there.

Stay safe and warm, Rhonda (and all you other Peachy People in the storm's path)! This is but one reason I stick with gas appliances (hope your power is not off too long people! ).

Sue - I'm with you ... grateful that this one passed us by here in Middle Earth (haven't seen my driveway, yard, front porch for a couple of months as it is!)

Rhonda, we had 27 inches here last time. The snow was (with drifts) was up to my waist as I tried to make my way out to the car. I would strongly suggest NOT waiting till the storm is done to try to make a path outside. With big snows, you have to shovel every 3 hrs. or you could be snowed in your house. With that storm, I looked at 3 am just to see and found 3 feet of snow against my door, if I would have waited till 7 am it would've been an avalanche of 5 feet. All of you in the storm belt need to go out several times and clear a path for yourselves.

While God has blessed NY this time, I know we are facing another storm next Wednesday into Thursday. In 1995 we had 17 storms here and they were 8 or more inches. We couldn't even call out from work because it was just so often, we were expected to handle it and show up and we did, although I called out during a 26 inch storm.

The electricity part sucks but the snowstorm is just another unique memory to be enjoyed. No use in crying over it. I feel a little bit cheated that we got nothing on Long Island when they said we were getting 6-12 inches. I hope your power is back on soon so you can be warm at least.

Those pics Drummy just about take the cake!

I love to visit snow but to live it in it has to suck sometimes.

Hang in there Rhonda and everyone else too. It's been raining out here in So Cal and some bad mudslides have hit the communities affected by the burn areas caused by The Station fire. It's a mess.

Here's some Devon and Duane vibes going your way! Keep the faith everyone and stay warm!

Let's see......there's primary roads, secondary roads, tertiary roads......eventually you make it down to country hillbilly roads.
I'm hoping to see our road plowed before next weekend.....so we can go back home.

Knowing that we'd be snowed in, we went over to Front Royal to stay at mom-in-law's house, now we've got more than 2 feet of snow (haven't measured yet - it's still snowing) and a bunch of miles of winding, Blue Ridge foothills road, and a 500 foot driveway between us and the inside of our house.
I think the power is out at home too, at least that's what the website for our electrical coop is saying.

Geeze....we moved to Virginia from New Hampshire 15 years ago to get away from this stuff!
